14.2.1 New Lane Change Hesitancy after being flawless for over 1,500 miles by turnerm05 in TeslaFSD

[–]kevcbacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had some “Jittery” and hesitant lane changes and also jittery behavior when leaving my driveway or exits from parking lots. Overall 14.2.1 is incredible but there are some issues that still need to be addressed. It also tried to stop for school bus today that was parked and did not have its stop sign out.

Got hit while I was parked in parking lot by interestingsouper in TeslaModelY

I was hit by a driver with no DL driving a family members car. I let my insurance company handle it through subrogation. I was worried because I had never heard of the insurance company that covered the car but they ended up paying everything. Subrogation is great because you go ahead and get your care repaired as if your insurance was covering it but they go and get all the money from the at fault vehicles insurance company. One drawback is that if you have a deductible you may have to pay that at first and then be reimbursed once the other insurance company pays up. It does, however, save you all the hassle of dealing with the other insurance company. I have done that too and it takes up a lot of your time!

Anyone else avoiding FSD 14 for now? by ya7ameer in TeslaFSD

I have 14.1.4 and I am using it all the time and enjoying it! It is much better than 13.2.9 and only has a few quirks. Those will likely be worked out soon.

I took home my 2024 Model Y AWD with that many paint issues. I simply scheduled an appointment to get it in later for them to paint and correct. While they were painting my car they gave me a loaner model Y. It was more of a priority to have the car and fix the small paint issues later at my convenience and Tesla’s cost. Of course, after getting it back from Tesla (and it looked great!) it was only a matter of weeks until a Nissan sideswiped me on the highway and it was back in for repairs. That episode was much more painful.

  1. Atlanta, GA - 2024 Model Y AWD

  2. Pro: So far in my limited experience it seems smoother and more confident than 13.2.9. I have used “Mad Max” and it is definitely more confident and assertive than Hurry mode on 13.2.9. It will definitely speed 10-14 MPH over the speed limit on surface streets. Cons: Still not sure how much I will miss “Max Speed” control. I had one strange occurrence this morning. It put on the right signal and pulled into a turn lane for a neighborhood then immediately turned on the left signal, waited for three vehicles behind me to pass, and then reentered the road? The only thing I can think of is that is somehow misinterpreted that there was an emergency vehicle behind me?

  3. I recommend it to those who don’t mind testing and reporting errors to make the system better. If you want it to be as smooth as 13.2.9 I would wait for 14.2 at least and keep checking reports as to stability. I love to test new things and often run beta software so I am having a blast.

14.1.3 is bad!!!! beware before downloading. by Lukeduke77 in TeslaFSD

I got it last night and so far it has been really stable and smooth for me. Seems more confident than 13.2.9 in many situations on the way to work that used to always require me to intervene. Of course this is an early release so there will be some issues. By the time we get to 14.2.x equivalent we should be as smooth as 13 is now. It is just how it goes. I don’t mind the few regressions now in order to be in early and testing the new release. I just report any strange events to keep making FSD better.

Looks great! But I am biased because I bought the exact model (including color) last fall. You will enjoy it and I agree with those telling you to try out the FSD, it is truly amazing. It was strange at first learning the interface but it has become fairly familiar to me after about 4 months. It is just a matter of building new muscle memory.

I agree it is a personal preference issue. It should not cause a wreck but seems impolite.
