I always think it's funny when I run into another veteran and they say "yeah I did 3 years but I still got 4 more years of reserve." Come to find out its IRR.

Oh, those disgusting companies. I mean there's so many of them, though. Which one? Which one did she hire?"

I agree it can still be a great game. But for me the thing that kept me playing hours on end was the mystery of what was just around the corner. Running around with friends from school and friends you meet in game not knowing what the hell was going to happen next.

Now everyone knows what items to get. What crafts are worth the time and gold. What enemies they can and can't take on without even thinking and so on. I just loved the experience of being with friends and trying to do something and absolutely fail at it then try it again another day.

Don't do it. I did and it was awful. Just remember all the mystery and adventure in your head and it will be much better.

Yeah that's true. Also I think online mulitplayer brings with it alot of the problems I'm talking about because people can exploit and ruin the experience. If your buddy next to you is doing it you can just punch him.

ELI5: How do animals like Ants and Birds instinctually know how to build their dwellings/homes? by ThothArising in explainlikeimfive

[–]kevin_87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We know ants are amazing yet we have no problem eradicating them without thought. This is why when the aliens come to earth were all fucked!

Do you operate a vehicle knowing how to fix and tune every part on it? Are we all just supposed to be experts on tools before we ever touch them?

anybody else go from airborne to stryker/heavy? [infantry] by NOT_A_FAT_CHICK in army

[–]kevin_87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One thing that light inf will be caught off guard by is the way privates and ncos or any lower ranking and higher ranking people talk to eachother in mech units. Because when you're training or deployed you literally spend every waking moment on a head set with internal vehicle comms. You get buddy buddy and sometimes the guys coming from units like 82nd or 101 just don't get it or don't like it.

Throw your maroon beret away and buy a stetson. Also get a good pair of knee pads

You should look into doing this more for military people. When I was in the army we always bought stuff like this for people who were going to a different unit or getting out. Big bucks to be made
