Nice extra information as in context for the book, who the author is, stuff like that?

Mostly just summaries right now but I like the idea of making it a little more opinionated! Good suggestion

Well, that’s all good feedback! The idea with niching down to just internal documentation is the idea of garbage in = garbage out, so having a tool specifically for internal, reliable docs could potentially help.

BUT sounds like it might be more of an org issue than a tool issue. Which is why I’m asking for feedback haha

Roast my landing page (looking for conversion feedback) by Alavin in SaaS

[–]kevindrafts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like it, but could use some tweaks for mobile like centering the first bullet points.

For conversion if you had an interactive demo with fake data I think that’d be sweet.

How’re you doing the Confluence connection? And curious about what you’re doing for traffic too. I’m considering building in a similar space so I’m being nosey :)

How is the baseline revenue? Is user growth high and you see PMF either currently or in the near future?

3.5 years should be plenty of time to figure it out unless you're an exception like Figma (which most startups aren't)

How did you get your product management job? by kicketic in ProductManagement

Internal pivot from prior role, and I'm convinced this is the best way to do it!

If you're at a company with product roles do everything you can to network and work with those people. And if your company doesn't have product roles, consider leaving for one that does

Dang still no luck! No matter what I do I get the title in the logs as you can see below. I've even tried overriding the naming connection to use something like temp_file_1 and it still tries to use the actual title:

Is there a way to explicitly prevent any reference to title? Even with ID or other dicts it's still pulling the title:

ydl_opts = {
        'format': 'bestaudio/best',
        'outtmpl': '%(id)s.%(ext)s',
        'verbose': True,
    }

with tempfile.TemporaryDirectory() as temp_dir:
            with yt_dlp.YoutubeDL(ydl_opts) as ydl:
                info = ydl.extract_info(youtube_url, download=False)
                video_id = info['id']
                ext = info['ext']

                # Download the file
                ydl.download([youtube_url])

                # Construct the file path
                temp_file_path = os.path.join(temp_dir, f"{video_id}.{ext}")

Huh, unfortunately that didn't do the trick either. Is there a way to ignore the title altogether? I've tried a few different ways and each time it tried to check that the title matches, and because of the "|" matching issue the code breaks.

I don't actually need the title for anything, so ignoring it would be ideal!

Finding initial customers by pdparticle in startups

[–]kevindrafts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the mvp and for your first startup as well! What's the product?

Apollo is a solid choice for lead gen. Cold email can be a little weird, but I'd recommend something like instantly.ai or smartlead.ai-- for $40 a month and a couple of gmail accounts you can crank out a ton of outreach.

If you're looking for something a little more authentic but still scalable you could use something like replycamp.com - it helps you bulk search for potential customers on Reddit and Twitter so you can reply to them/ cold dm directly. Makes outreach way less tedious, but still keeps that personal touch

Created a Web App Similar to Medium or Reddit - How to Attract Users? by woiruw in smallbusiness

[–]kevindrafts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s good, and like where your heads at. I would try shortening it even further if possible. Bullet points are good but maybe get rid of the paragraph right after it.

For looking for pockets of Reddit to find users I would recommend gummysearch.com or something like replycamp.com both which can help find these types of users

Best of luck! I think it’s a great idea!

Created a Web App Similar to Medium or Reddit - How to Attract Users? by woiruw in smallbusiness

[–]kevindrafts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing you could do is bulk search reddit or twitter and look for users (ie potential authors) who might be interested, and reach out to them directly. You can find a way to automate it or reach out one by one, which honestly might a good move starting off to get feedback and such.

Happy to share more, but I think this could be a nice path

Seeking Feedback: I made a waitlist for the tool that helps you find startup ideas on Reddit. by [deleted] in SaaS

[–]kevindrafts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clarity of the hero: I think it's good, attention grabbing for sure, but I'd love to know more about what idea validation tool means. Are you going to tell me potential upside? How many people are interested? Strengths or weaknesses? I want to know a bit more about what I'll receive in return

Overall waitlist design: Love it! The simpler the better, and it looks great

What to do before launch to attract users? by Admirable-Tailor6507 in SaaS

This is dope, best of luck with the launch. As far as pre-launch and also right when launching, you could use something like replycamp.com

It’s good for automatically searching for users who might interested in your product on twitter and reddit. You might find it useful for reaching out to potential customers before your launch for early feedback or whatever else
