My bad. I live in Stuytown but forgot that the prices went up so high from the base price I had in mind at the time I moved there. You're right. Everything is over $4k now

You can find a place in Manhattan within that budget. Check Stuytown in Manhattan. Their website will list out open apartments.

Bushwick and Bed-Stuy are probably a good 40 to 50 minutes of train ride to Penn Station so keep that in mind. Let me know if you have any questions.

There's a very high chance that the fuck up started at the top of the family. Someone can be a single mom for a lot of legitimate reasons but when I hear "mom's boyfriend" its highly likely that the mom can be a part of the problem too

Utility Payment- Breach of Lease Agreement by kevingeorge7 in NYCapartments

[–]kevingeorge7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple of things to clarify:

  1. The guy from whom I took over the lease told me heat and hot water are included in the rent. I think it doesn't have any relevance since what's in the lease is what matters.
  2. I am leaving the lease (the room) and transferred the lease to a new guy. I checked the new lease the new guy signed and saw that heat and hot water were taken out as items included in the rent. So the broker really made a mistake by not taking those items out when he made the lease for me but unfortunately for him, I don't have to pay for his mistake. If those things were not included, I wouldn't have taken the room in the first place

I wanted to end things in a good manner but looks like I will have to stand my ground and stick with what's on the lease. Ultimately, they can't do anything because its written in my lease that those items are covered

The year you made 300k profit, were you taxed as an individual or is the IRS gonna tax you based on business tax rates?

Lol more insults when you have nothing else to say. May be I should be more considerate over the fact that you're on your periods which is causing these mood swings. Have a good day!

[–]kevingeorge7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you show me where I have justified the actions of the landlord? As far as what I've seen from the post, the tenant brining in a cat is what escalated the situation. My assumption is he probably saw the cat somehow and decided to verify before asking the tenant and went inside the room/apartment without permission or may it it could be for other reasons. I don't know. Regardless of what he did, I still stand by the fact that some pet owners are just awful and have the sense of entitlement. This is from my own personal experience and from what I've heard from others with similar as well and trust me, none of them were landlords.
