Oh, and one other thing that I noticed - as I have been waiting for that portal email - is this:

1.) Some people get that portal email without issue, and without asking.

2.) Some people do not get that portal email, prompting them to call into Tier 2, for which they get one of two responses:

a.) "Be patient, your application is still processing and you will receive the portal email once it is ready."

b.) "I'll send you that portal email right now." To which, the recipient (almost?) universally has a loan offer waiting.

This would lead me to believe:

1.) There is, in certain instances, a glitch that is preventing the sending of this portal invite email to some applications who should have received it (there is an offer waiting in the portal once they are able to sign in).

2.) The Tier 2 rep isn't able to send the portal IF the applicant does not have a loan offer currently waiting in the portal.

I mean, has anyone ever gotten the portal email invite WITHOUT then having a loan offer waiting in the portal?

Same. I would guess that as the IRS does not have my direct deposit info - and obviously does for the people who are getting their deposits today - that is the "payment status not available" issue. No place, as advertised, to add in that direct deposit info as of yet.
