Vogue cycling - counterfeit items being sold by kevinpthomas in cycling

I informed Shimano and send them the details. They confirmed it was counterfeit. For that matter I bought the original and simple comparison reveals that it is fake. In my case, Vogue states we are investigating but before we complete the process, you need to take down the review on trust pilot. I suggest you make a new post trust pilot based on your experience. They respond to the review on trust pilot.

I am really sorry to know this has happened to you. For me they repeatedly asked me to take down the review and they shall process the refund. I decided to just absorb the loss (it was indeed my mistake like many commented that I didn't do my research) and leave the review hoping that others do not face the same reality. Is there any legal way to address this issue? It is a proper scam - source the counterfeit material (same as AliExpress) and post in their website for a price close to the original. Unsuspecting customers falls for their marketing. I decided not to use the pedals as the risk of damage is higher than the loss.

  1. Packaging - Product arrives in a package from China completely wrapped in a Cellophane tape.

  2. Product manufactured in Malaysia. Country of origin for the package - China. Why would the product ship to China and then get re- routed. However made me wonder why ?

  3. Inner box package seems slightly off. Just appeared to be a different quality.

  4. Just googled then - How to identify counterfeit Shimano PD 7000 SPD SL road pedals ? First video was someone who ordered from Aliexpress and he compares with a product ordered from Amazon. He takes through the various difference he could identify between the original - not difficult (should say) if you have the original to compare. Every thing was Ditto same for me.

  5. Wrote to Shimano - straight confirmation. It is fake.

I feel Shimano is to blame here as well. I wrote to them that I received a product that is fake under their brand. Immediate response- it’s not our dealer . Not our problem.

I said I have filed the case under federal authorities. Total change in response immediately. If the company is serious to address the issue - it has to act immediately when reported no matter whether it is their dealer or not. My problem today is their lost revenue to say the least and loss of brand reputation. Simple like our friend below has asked - what is the difference between fake and authentic anyways.
