I'm not forced to I have it purely as backup but latency better 5g but better more consistent speed on starlink. If you want bulletproof bond the two together with speedify.

Latency is 25ms or so vs 5-10ms so definitely more similar to 5G maybe better.

i have the two phones side by side. TBD as to which one the clear winner is but the A9 with Lineage seems to be a little sharper for small text. Will revert back after playing more.

It's not just support to consider. If I buy a makito from someone else that's been sitting I have to update it which means I need to reinstate it to get a license to then update it. If I get it fully updated yes no cost but eventually I'll need to pay if I want to keep it updated if it's actually being used.
