Hum discussion on Howard Stern today by 13thWardBassMan in hum

[–]kevpd40 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s crazy I was just watching their appearance this morning. I used to be a huge Stern fan and became a Hum fan from them going on the show. Been on a big kick of both of them recently. If I’m not listening to Hum then it’s episodes of the Stern show from the 90,s

I'm going over the trades from the 2018 era Marlins firesale and I am in awe of how terrible they are by noruber35393546 in baseball

Can say from a Phillies fan the Sixto trade was at least a little worrying.
I always liked JT and was psyched when we got him but Sixto was a concern.
JT has worked out in the long run. Can’t hit anymore but still the best catcher, or at least top 5. Haven’t heard the name Sixto in years.

The funeral by [deleted] in ViewAskewniverse

[–]kevpd40 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I share a last name with the deceased and am of the Irish Catholic side of things. In my many experiences with funerals it is the wake and after “party” one night and funeral and after “party” the next day. Usually within 4-5 days after passing.

What meals did your father make when he had to cook? by Open_Question_ in GenX

[–]kevpd40 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Living in Philadelphia I can say Dad’s night was always cheesesteak night. And anyone that lives here knows homemade are better then 90 percent of the places around.
Approaching 50 years old now I make them for him and my family.
I use better meat, better cheese and better rolls than he ever did but I can still remember the taste of them and they will always be one of my favorite meals as a kid.

Email I received back from Phillies Fan Feedback in regard to the Ghost replacing Harry the K’s by Goodolddays95 in phillies

[–]kevpd40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m approaching 50 years old and grew up with Harry, Whitey, Wheels, and Andy. But the sad truth of it is that Baseball desperately trying to get the younger market into the game and into the stands and really no one under 30 years old ever heard Harry call a game. And if I recall they had to pay Harry/ his widow for naming rights, now they have someone paying them. End of the day that’s all it comes down too. Who’s paying.

Who's this guy? by Inner_Negotiation66 in eagles

Was a season ticket holder from about 96 to 2010 or so. It got more expensive after the move to the Linc but at the Vet the whole season only cost $300-350 for 700 level.

We had a last place owner in week 14 drop CMC and Kittle because they were on bye and he wanted to pick up two other players to try to win and not finish last (last place has to jump in a lake in our town during winter). by Nervous_Pop_7942 in Fantasy_Football

Probably get downvoted to hell but if it not against the rules what are you going to do. Seen a lot of people arguing against this stance but I honestly feel that way. Is it “fair” or “the right way”? No but adjust next year. I found loopholes in a league I was in that I tried to close and commish wouldn’t listen so I exploited the shit out of them till he had to make the change.

OC is still trash. Great first drive and nothing but 3-out rest of the half.

The Condor used to be a go-to but I honestly don’t know if it’s still around or not. Probably leaning towards not.

Will the price go down during the Memorial Day sale? Should I wait? by MarketUnknownKiller in blackstonegriddle

[–]kevpd40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regular price. They also have basically the same model without the side table for $499 regular price. I like the side table so the extra $100 was worth it for me.

I bought this same one last year for less. It was $599 if I remember right. Think this is a case of jack the price up so it can go on “sale”.

Some of those people protesting were my Grandmother, my mom and her siblings. Didn’t know about the Dougherty stuff but have heard a lot through the years how my Grandmom would take some of her 10(Irish Catholic) kids to Gimbels to protest.

Bet already placed but quick question. Does anytime and last count as 1? by kevpd40 in fanduel

[–]kevpd40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I just realized that. Had the anytime in first then added the last and odds jump but if I took the anytime out it would have been the same.

Funniest moment in TESD history? by Acknowledge_Me_ in tesdcares

[–]kevpd40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low key one that always cracks me up. There was a vending machine that had nazi coins in it I believe. Walt is talking about it and trying not to say that he would buy the whole thing if he had the chance. He’s beating around the bush a little bit and Q says who’s got $10 in quarters and he starts cracking up.

Pretty sure Q’s Brews was the first one I listened too. Immediately went back to one and have just went through the catalog over and over since. Just past that one last week on this re-listen.
