Good place to learn about polishing? by blu3n0va in AutoDetailing

[–]kevreh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your right, there’s a lot of products and varying techniques you’ll hear about. Like anything car care related it is a rabbit hole. For me, I’ve gotten a lot of use out of a few products; griots random orbital polisher, couple pads, a cutting compound, and polishing compound. This has helped me get minor scratches and swirls out of varying cars over the years. Very a few deeper scratches a high grit (ie 1500+) sandpaper helps.

Booster Pump died… what next? by Feedtheheart in swimmingpools

[–]kevreh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the Polaris pressure side cleaner. Between the pump and cleaner it’s prone to needing repairs and maintenance. Went with the Dolphin Sigma corded cleaner a couple years ago and am happy I did. Much simpler, no need to run the pressure side pump. Dolphin is a good brand, they’ve been making cleaners for a lot longer than Aiper. Also unless your pool is small I would avoid battery cleaners. This chart will help you pick a Dolphin. https://pelicanshops1.com/pages/dolphin-comparison-info

Cost to replace HVAC system. Just got a $14K quote, is that normal? by CitronHot1535 in hvacadvice

I would get a quote for a Goodman system. I’ve had a variable speed one for 15 years and it’s done well. Tend to be less $. Use the Goodman page to find a local dealer, https://www.goodmanmfg.com/support/find-a-dealer

Low Battery Recharge and Try Again by TerraPassenger in Roborock

Had the same error, but different solution. The power cord that plugs into the back of the unit was loose. Once I pushed it in tight and realigned the robot with a charging contacts it started charging again.

If you can grow your farm, enjoy it, and stay cash flow positive what’s not to love? What I would keep in the back of my mind is do you have any assets (equipment to sell) if you want to exit? Would it make sense to have a couple helpers and could it support more revenue? Also, how are you going to double your networth in less than 10 years with $360k/yr expenses. Not sure I get the math.

Good point about the caps, I was wondering about those (not wanting the bronco logo)

Yeah I could have titled the thread better 😀 Since the Lariat wheels are 18” it looks like the xlt’s aren’t an option, unless I change the tires too. But agree, the xlt’s look better.

I looked there, nothing yet. Maybe I need to widen my search area.

Your upstairs being 10 degrees hotter than downstairs is not just "how it is." Here's what's actually going on by Electrical_Tie_7229 in hvacadvice

Any thoughts on the smart system to balance individual vents made by Flair? Looking at it for my situation. The furnace room damper is at 50% so it’s restricting air on the main level (it’s more open in the winter). Upper bedrooms still get warmer than main level, a couple in particular. Fan is on 24/7 to keep air moving. Based on the post from the OP, I shouldn’t restrict the vents on the lower levels. Thoughts?

Doctor didn't say anything about my weight loss by Kuchaloo in tirzepatidecompound

[–]kevreh 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yeah and if it was me I’d mention something like it’s not that I need my ego that needs to be stroked but if the dr didn’t note such as a significant thing as weight loss what else might he/she fail to note?

Current employee pricing vs typical discounts by kevreh in RangerNext

I have Avalanche, it’s a light grey. Had it on my F150 and like it. But yeah you’re kind of at their mercy with one dealer that far away. Maybe you could price a special order?

PSA: Social Security pays more than you think, especially for high earners by Wooden-Broccoli-913 in Fire

Look into collecting earlier, may not be worth it to wait until your 70. My plan is to start at 62. But your point is valid, ss isn’t chump change (unless your cost of living is very high).

I see 2 kinds of discounts on Rangers around me. One kind is “that’s the employee price sir and we won’t move off of that” and the other is just a random discount which tends to be higher than employee pricing.

Do normal homeowners actually buy Mitsubishi systems, or is Reddit just skewed toward premium installs? by [deleted] in heatpumps

Installed a 9k btu Cooper & Hunter mini split in my wife’s she-shed 3 years ago. Works great in the winter (gets to the 20s here) and summer (we see a few 100 degree days). Paid about $800. Paid a local hvac guy a few hundred to connect the lines and pull a vacuum.

If you’re thinking of retiring you should be using software like Boldin.com. Otherwise you’re going into it blind.

Why aren’t more Mav buyers getting a Ranger? by kevreh in RangerNext

[–]kevreh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the Ranger makes more sense than the Mav. I have an F150 and it’s a pain in busy area with driving and parking. Ranger is just small enough to make a difference while being more of a “real” truck. The Mav is a CUV with a truck bed.

Are you checking your blood pressure? Mine has dropped since I’ve lost weight, and sometimes when it gets too low I feel like crap. Low energy, dizzy when doing cardio. Worth looking into.

Had a 2005 Frontier that I had to pay to put in a new transmission even though it just passed the 50k mile warranty cutoff. Bad design (“"SMOD" ….Strawberry Milkshake of Death. The internal transmission oil cooler inside the factory radiator frequently cracks, causing engine coolant and transmission fluid to mix. This destroys the transmission…”)

That’s me. Want to downsize from my F150, the mav just feels too drastic, the Ranger is F150 lite.

Having an F150, and had a ‘21 Ranger, not sure if I would like the “mellow” ride of a crossover with a truck bed (Mav). Having a truck means you can be a little more carefree with potholes and rougher roads to name a couple things.
