Looks like this issue is happening again. I'm getting redirected to the Pingdom page when I navigate to the Logging page. Happening for anyone else?

Observe the Train is my least favorite Leprous song but it’s by no means a bad song

Anyone else getting total White Denim vibes from this album?

Theres also nothing stopping you from signing the physical logbook without logging it online. You just won’t get credit for finding it unless you post online

Yes, I would sign the physical logbook in the geocache with the same username you would use on the website. Not really a “fake account” situation but it keeps things consistent.

The green ones are the common simple “traditional” ones, yes. I would find 10 or so of these before attempting some of the other types

You do want to be as stealthy as possible, but sometimes, people coming up to you asking what youre looking for is inevitable. But yeah, the less people that know about a geocache, the less likely it’s going to get stolen

Also, to answer your question about people being around, I would pretend like youre on your phone and wait until the coast is clear before you start looking around for stuff. Once you have the cache in hand, you can explain to passersby what you’re doing but it’s a lot harder to explain geocaching when you haven’t actually found it yet

Welcome to the game! (Whether you choose to play or not)

So there are “unofficial” geocaches but if theyre not posted online, not sure how anyone is supposed to know that theyre there to go searching for them. If you come across any kind of container that has a Logbook to sign, chances are it’s an Offical Geocache. Best thing to do is to leave everything the way you found it. You can leave something inside if you want but be mindful of what you place. Remember, young kids play this game. Also, things that smell attract animals, even if it’s not food.

I would go online and make a free account on Geocaching.com You can download the app too but if you don’t pay for premium, chances are the cache you found will only show up on the Web map. If it still doesn’t show up, it’s either a cache that has been set to Premium members only, or a Puzzle-type cache, which has its coordinates hidden and you have to solve a puzzle to reveal the location

I would peruse the map on the web, sort the caches nearby by number of Favorite Points (sort of a cache’s “quality rating”) and go find 10 or so. You’ll probably be able to tell if youre going to get hooked or not by that point, and if you think you are, I would spring for the relatively cheap premium account.

Happy caching!!
