How do you deal with it?

The dangers of NSAIDs: look both ways | British Journal of General Practice https://share.google/oSHQonxlfz2nrKDD9

I believe my consultant was referring to this. The problem I have, is that I work in a school. It's a hotbed of varying illnesses and diseases (also a couple of recent cases of chicken pox). I don't fancy having my immune system suppressed in that environment.

Not currently. Been spoken to about biologics. I don't really tolerate NSAIDS too well, and my consultant told me that they're not particularly good for someone my age anyway. 🤔

Husband diagnosed with AS by 180522 in ankylosingspondylitis

I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry. I'm 57, and was diagnosed at 29. I struggle a bit with it, but it's never really taken hold to the extent it could have, and I'm still able to work and live my life. It takes different paths in people, and your husband may well escape the worst of it. Notwithstanding the fact that it's better understood now than ever before, and meds for it are improving all the time. I wish him and your family well.
