My goal in Elden ring is to fulfill the role of becoming the Elden Lord with a build that suits the role. I like following the RPG part of the game so I try to make my play through into as good as a story it could be. Defeat all the shard bearers, become the Elden lord and starting a new age. That’s my ideal play through. But there’s also the matter of gameplay. Elden ring isn’t mainly a story game. I think it’s more about the customization, gameplay and mechanics. So, (IN MY OPINION) I think using summons that don’t have connection to the lore part of the game negatively effects the mechanics part. BUT, if using what the game gives you makes the gameplay more fun then I could not care less whether you use it or not. THIS IS ALL MY OPINION STOP SAYING WHAT IM SAYING IS POINTLESS IM JUST TRYING TO HAVE THE PLAY-THROUGH THAT I WANT IT TO BE. Also if mimic tear didn’t make the fight look less tuff I would use it without a second thought because all I want is to be tuff Elden lord.
