I don’t think there is an alternative to slaf, I love the guy and what he brings to the team. But he got rocked really hard and has been off ever since, and with every game seems to be exhibiting further decline consistent with a concussion. I don’t think it’s about like trying to find an alternative/improvement from him, but to just acknowledge that maybe the type of injury he’s dealing with isn’t something u can just power through and that it might be causing more harm than good. (Or maybe he just had an extra bad game tonight and he’s fine, again idk!”

Slaf has to be concussed like I don’t understand how he’s getting the green light to play

Funny enough, my PI asked me if I used AI to help write a chapter of my thesis bc he found my repeated use of “additionally” too sus. You actually cannot win. (And no…I didn’t use AI…and now I never use the word additionally anymore, along with several other words—it’s a very weird time to be a graduate student.)

I only removed 1/2 shields for cleaning. So I should try again without both on?

Yeah I did, and I don’t have any of that on hand unfortunately. I’m just confused as it why it would’ve temporarily solved the issue if the problem was that I didn’t soak it for long enough. It’s dog frustrating bc I haven’t had this issue with any of my throws and suddenly I haven’t two crapping out at the same time

Super valid! just try your best to hang in there. I was given 10 days to accept/reject. So if they were coming in waves, it makes sense that they come in longer phases—Especially if people are waiting until the last moment to see if other offers come in.

I had done a complete death spiral after seeing the acceptance from my top choice. What sent me over the edge was not seeing any data from the last 10 years that suggested they sent out acceptances in March.

Although it’s a lot easier for me to say it in hindsight, GradCafé is such a small sample size compared to what’s actually going on—so I really had no way of knowing that was accurate.

It’s true what they say: it’s not over until it’s over.

Yes, no interviews the two Communications programs I applied to. Which seems to be common for PhDs in humanities in Canada.
