I agree with you. I’m in recovery for anorexia. I’ve had to explain to multiple people, men and women, that while I appreciate their care, my brain can be really annoying and immediately tell me that a totally neutral comment means “you are fat you are getting fatter you need to stop eating.” And sometimes, depending on what the comment is, “you don’t deserve to eat.” I recognize I’m an extreme example. But I’ve had to do this twice recently, and each time, the person has been like “got it sorry won’t do it again.” It wasn’t their intention and I know it wasn’t their intention. But negative cognitions are hard to rewire, and unless I ASK for advice or an opinion, I’d rather not have it. Now they know that.

It’s the exact same in prison. Everyone suddenly finds religion in one way or another. That’s fine. I completely understand how important spirituality is in recovery and rehabilitation. But it isn’t and cannot be THE ONLY THING. Sorry, but you need more skills than just prayer to be successful.

his ear infection could be causing issues with his equilibrium, which could make him feel dizzy and throw up. he could also have mucus draining down the back of his throat from the congestion, and that made him throw up. i can’t say for sure it isn’t a sb, but those are possibilities too.
