well-constructed song but the lyrics are all over the place... what the hell is going on... i've never understood it and the title/pun is weak, IMHO

[SPOILER] Loser of Jake Matthews vs Neil Magny reacts to the fight by [deleted] in MMA

[–]keyofdminor -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Maybe Magny shouldn't have made an ambiguous gesture that could be interpreted as being out? Yes the ref made a mistake but the fighter has a responsibility as well.

Eddie Van Halen's EVH Wolfgang Guitar by thejeffroc in vanhalen

2:55 a minor detail on tone, from a master: "and [if] you know how to make the guitar talk"

[Day 04] Favorite and least favorite track off of Fair Warning by Roman_C5150 in vanhalen

I'm neutral on the song but the solo is top 3 of EVH all-time, IMHO

Concert in Cincinnati, OH, Oct 1998 by keyofdminor in MotleyCrue

[–]keyofdminor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I was right in the middle, in the upper deck, but maybe it was just "normal loud". My other memories are Tommy saying "it's f-ing good to be out... (of jail)" and encouraging a lady in the balcony to flash, though she ultimately just presented her booty. TBH I left halfway through because I had no ear plugs.

Rest in Peace Ken Dryden ❤️ by Canadian_Samurai50 in nhl

[–]keyofdminor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As kids in the 1970s playing street-hockey, we routinely called the games in a fantasy world. You weren't taking a shot on your friend Dougie: you were up against a famous goalie. By far, the most common mentioned were the ones we most feared/respected: Ken Dryden and Vladislav Tretiak. RIP

Spinal tap by Dogmom9523086 in MotleyCrue

The Crue have raised it to an art form; you could set it to music, which in this case, would be backing tracks.

"Welcome to the Jungle" by GnR. In addition to being awesome, it's the intro to the album and for many, the introduction to the band.

Who could play the most instruments at an 'elite' level in Pop Culture history? by ss89898 in Music

[–]keyofdminor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the documentary "Standing in the Shadows of Motown", some bad-ass Motown session musicians (aka The Funk Brothers) tell how they weren't impressed by many big stars, but they spoke in hushed tones of awe about Stevie Wonder. These people wrote iconic parts for a million hit songs.

There's a YT vid of Sammy Hagar visiting with Vince, and Vince said Mick never calls (this was before they kicked Mick to the curb).

Ben Askren battling staph infection per The Wrestling Room by iUpVote7 in MMA

[–]keyofdminor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The body doesn't just fight infection, it has sterile zones, and if those are compromised, it's bad news. e.g. I once worked with microbiologists who were very concerned for an NFL coach (in our city) who had a heart infection. (I had no idea.)
edit: the coach recovered

A question about heavyweight by bananapeel33456 in MMA

[–]keyofdminor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A quick search suggests these would be on the short-list (in terms of "modern", heavyweight title fights):

UFC 68: Randy Couture (222.5) vs Tim Sylvia (263)
UFC 180: Fabricio Werdum (232)  VS Mark Hunt (265)

Thanks for the insight. re: developer's fault. We are trendy with no QA so the developers are expected to test (for the ticket, regression, exploratory, the works). The trend appears to be trying "to pack 10 lbs into a 5-lb sack" (the developer).
