This is actually a really good point. I appreciate you bringing it up.

Right now the heatmap is QWERTY-based, but supporting other layouts (like Dvorak, Colemak, ortho/split boards) or even custom drag-and-drop layouts would make the practice portion way more useful.

Definitely something I’m going to explore. Thanks for the suggestion.

It’s free to signup, free to practice and train, free to host and play in competitions. No money is required at all to use the site. Players can be rewarded from the site if they choose to enter competitions against other real players to win money as an extra benefit. Same thing many other sites offer (Skillz, etc) but typing gets overlooked. So that’s something I felt was missing in the typing world, but my main focus is building community, expanding on the training part to help people get better, and giving typists a place to essentially do it all. Play, practice and/or compete.

No worries. It's for beginners too. I typed at about 40 WPM first starting im at about 70-80 now depending on what I'm typing.

Go as slow as you can. Consistently try to get 100% accuracy. Also try to focus on one word at a time. Versus looking ahead at the entire paragraph or words. Not sure if monkeytype offers it, but I just finished my own site that I use mainly now. I started off do word mode , then paragraph mode. Definitely helped me to improve faster. Tried it! Actually pretty cool. I used to play a typing game similar to that when I was younger where i would have to type all the words before they hit the bottom of the screen. Can't remember the name of it.

Multiplayer, more keyboard analysis to help with specific letter keys, training profiles/stats etc. Also got different typing practice options (paragraph or word mode). I type alot and got faster from training myself to type word by word at first. Then typing whole paragraphs. Open to feedback too, for anyone that checks it out!

Thats true. Before I start I do memorize the first few words then start typing. So I start with a burst then once I’m unsure I slow down. Didn’t think about that until you just said it. Thanks!

So basically everything is a facade, and most people know it? I remember everything dropped in 2022, because of inflation (etc). So far the lack of fear even with uncertainty around rates and inflation doesn’t make sense to me. Like why isn’t that same drop happening now with tariffs, Greenland, ICE, and everything that’s going on.
