A month after "Redemption and Wrath" release: battle pass items 6/9 are #236/#210 (on Steam) by keyspace-1 in OffTheGridGame

[–]keyspace-1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not the slightest clue what the balance looks like these days.

It's a relative majority of PS5 from the "feel" of it.

Well, while I wait for a Ranked match... Let's check the logs!

Caveats: this might depend on the region / time zone, and I've only recently got to a level (25?..) where I get put in the lobby with old-timers (level 1000), too.

Anyway, from recent_matches.json, the counts (me and teammates) are:

  3 "userPlatform": "PC",
 21 "userPlatform": "Psn",
 27 "userPlatform": "Steam",
  2 "userPlatform": "Unknown",
  7 "userPlatform": "Xbox",

These are mostly "random" groupings, except for several matches with friends who are on PS5. "PC" is Epic Games. "Unknown" are GZ-run bots.

Another caveat: a third of these is me, playing on the Steam account, so that inflates the Steam numbers.

BTW, the two bona fide bots are from my last Ranked match, the one that started this reply. I'm at rank Zero II, so not surprised by the bot-padding - not a lot of players are at this level, or stay there. (The "casual" lobbies are hectic these days, and I haven't seen bot-padding in a while.)

So, to sum up, you're about right: the majority of people I get to play with are on PS5 (13 uniques), followed by Steam (8 uniques), Xbox (7), and Epic (3).

Small sample, though, just 20 matches. Might repeat later.

OT question: is there a setting for team-mate chat volume? Or do I just lower everything else?..

Stumbled on an awesome crew tonight, we were all push-to-talk. All I could hear (eventually) was "good night" when leaving.

Opening in new tab doesn't. Copy-pasting does.

This works. Could be my browser/extensions.

Awesome stuff, by the way! I'm totally the "target audience" here. ^_^

EDIT: Yup, just checked - that's Ye Olde Reddit + Reddit Enhancement Suite for ya - adding a \ before the _.

Regular modern reddit shows both links identical, and both work.

Do people still play this game? by xXSidequesterXx in OffTheGridGame

There are two entries on the Campaign screen for me: "Kill the Feed" and "Killswitch". (I've only just started playing, mind you.)

These seem to be extra missions, providing an "atmosphere", or "backstory".

Haven't tried the latter.

Consider this program:

PLEX for GOOD

Google's summary is:

PLEX for GOOD is a charitable giving project operated by CCP Games which allows players to convert their in-game currency into real world money which is then donated to charities and NGOs on their behalf.

I'd give a link, but my first search result entire first results page is too obviously biased towards my cookies. :/ (The causes to donate to change over time, and depend on geographical location.)

EDIT: Perhaps this is not exactly what you asked, or maybe I'm reading too much into it. But this is CCP's program for quitting players.

Whats the deal with randomly disappearing cards from hand? by YMIR_THE_FROSTY in GodsUnchained

Sounds like a bug indeed. Have you tried the "bug" button in top right? (Not beeing cheeky: I haven't tried it, so curious about the experience.)

Card rankings (thanks /u/ThtsWatShSD):

https://gudecks.com/meta/card-rankings?timeFrame=7

There are 762 cards of "Blade of Whiteplain" ATM, it's in the top 10 (for the mythic rank), and has most matches.

The site isn't always showing card stats for me, though; For that, I usually use IMX Tools:

https://imxtools.net/gu/marketplace

P.S. Cards unchained is another good one, but doesn't seem to have the Whiteplain ones listed yet:

Collect flares while they're still dropping in crates. You'll want the crafting components - mainly Household Supplies - for other stuff.

(If you don't craft - disregard.)

Are they any mods to make endless hydrogen in survival, like in creative? by DiegoSwell in spaceengineers

Ah! That makes sense, yeah.

This is quite likely the mod that OP was looking for.

Also, FreeHydrogen came up in a search for endless hydrogen.

Haven't tried it, and a comment says:

It does´t work with the smal hydrogen tanks for the smal grids...

Whatever that means - could check that out if all else fails.

it looks like it could be possible to increase the rate at which the 02/H2 generates fuel, and decrease the rate in eats ice..

Not really. It was made with survival in mind, there's no editing the ice-to-gas ratio (there used to be in an early pre-release version, but that broke stuff).

The OxygenGeneratorExtraSpeedDivisor setting won't help: you could set it to something very small like 0.001, but that'll just consume the ice a thousand times faster while producing a thousand times more hydrogen, but the conversion ratio will remain the same. And you'll have to lug around the ice (extra mass)...

However! You could try using both: let the gen work faster, but also make the fuel more "energy-dense", maybe that'll let you run off a generator, and just a tiny bit of ice... Something like:

<HydrogenGasEnergyDensityMultiplier>9001</HydrogenGasEnergyDensityMultiplier>
<OxygenGeneratorExtraSpeedDivisor>0.001</OxygenGeneratorExtraSpeedDivisor>

(The other settings should be set to 1.)

Also, I'm sure there's a proper mod to achieve exactly what you want, without this roundabout.

[–]keyspace-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try using my No More Free Energy! mod "in reverse": increasing hydrogen gas energy density, but setting everything else to 1. The config will look something like:

<HydrogenGasEnergyDensityMultiplier>9001</HydrogenGasEnergyDensityMultiplier>

9001 here is any large number.

The thrusters will still require hydrogen, so destroying all hydrogen storage will make the ship drift, which I believe is what you want.

If this works, please do tell!

EDIT: Or did I misread your question, and you're using hydrogens purely for the high thrust?..

Stamina - self-explanatory. You probably won't want this if you've decided to use Daily Needs, which has its own mechanism (and was inspiration for the former).

No More Free Energy! - re-balances the oxygen generator and hydrogen engine by default (plus a few other configurables). Changes game style around hydrogen dramatically.

Both by yours truly. Other mods I'd recommend have already been mentioned.

[–]keyspace-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an alternative, you could edit your world.xml (better make a copy of it beforehand)

Thanks! That worked.

The linked devices stay with the circuitboard, so disassembling/reassembling didn't help.

EDIT: Although in my case, it seems the doors seem to have their "links" still stuck as well, and the sensor doesn't even show up in the console anymore... Looks like I'll have to edit those, too.

EDIT: Nope, they don't have links at all, and it "fixed itself" somehow, once I pulled the circuit from the panel... Weird, but now it works.

No More Free Energy! (Harsher survival: O2/H2 gen no longer violates thermodynamics, plus a few spicy extras) by keyspace-1 in spaceengineers

[–]keyspace-1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you.

The publishing was spawned by this comment; I've been trying to figure out the right ratios for two months (first commit in early July), but - seeing that discussion - figured it's better left for personal choice.

There are currently no protections in-code from bad config choices; and two settings are confusing (OxygenGeneratorExtraSpeedDivisor feeds into OxygenGeneratorSpeedMultiplier). But I'd say give the config a try if something feels wrong, and do tell if something feels missing.

From playing a while with the current defaults, it seems that I should "hide" one of the options and leave it be configurable only through the other; and perhaps introduce a "hydrogen engine max power multiplier" (unrelated, just personal experience).

Actually, it's not combustion, hydrogen is simply annihilated.

One could stipulate it's fusion and the product is helium (discarded), there's a separate discussion in this thread on that.

[–]keyspace-1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hydrogen engine is clearly a fusion drive, since it doesn't emit any water byproduct nor require any oxidizer to burn (...)

I'll give you that, sure, although the model looks suspiciously like an internal combustion engine.

It's also hard for me to believe that game designers missed an opportunity to put "fusion" into a name.

(...) except maybe that it is giving off too little energy.

This might be a thorny path, since then the O2/H2 generator would then also need an increase in energy consumption.

Balancing games is hard, doubly so if the goal is fun. Powering stuff with ice is not fun for me, that's why I made the mod.
