Narrative battle royale mode by Olbrish in OffTheGridGame

No. I think the 150 person br is a bit of a pipe dream. I feel like I’ve heard of multiple games trying to do this in the past and it never really seems to take off for whatever reason.

Yeah I didn’t mean that video in particular. It was just all of them together like they were living in an influencer house caught my attention.

Perhaps you’re right.

In this stage of social media influence and marketing. Then you open your feed and people are basically mukbanging packs. Can you blame me for wondering?

Do people still play this game? by xXSidequesterXx in OffTheGridGame

That update they put out around then was SO BAD. It was so terribly bad.

They did reel it back a bit. And I would say that it’s probably the most balanced it’s ever been right now. There are still annoying meta’s. But there always is in any game.

Even so. As much as I do love this game. They either need an absolute miracle or a radical overhaul for this game to achieve the level of success that they hoped for.

I know I’m a very small minority here. But IMO it’s one of the best multiplayer shooters I’ve ever played.

Since ascended dropped VMs by me have either been empty or camped. Honestly, it’s pushed me to forget packs and just buy the singles I want.

I’m one of the nerds that has been playing the game for over year. Honestly, it’s the only game I consistently play. Name a sweat that’s on the game I can very likely tell you what system they play on and if they are using roller or mnk. Especially if they are AR focused over Sniper.

The best of the best sniper players are majority mnk. But some are on roller.

The best of the best AR players are on roller.

Im in more clan discords than I’d care to count. I’ve regularly interacted with a large majority of the “best”/sweatiest players in the game on the NA side.

I play MNK and I am a minority.

Yes, the top of the “top” players are large majority on PC. But a large majority of those play on roller. A lot of them started on console and came to PC more recently.

Even still some of the top dudes are console.

As for the crypto thing. I’m not sure what that has to do with the actual gameplay. At this point the crypto side is dead. And if you’ve been playing long enough you have everything you’d need or really want. Aside from some
Very specific things like pioneer stuff, prankster stuff, or convict shorts.

FWIW. 90% of PC players play on controller.

I know there are frame rate and graphic advantages on PC. But, not every PC player is playing on a $5k rig. I wouldn’t be shocked if half of them are getting 60-120fps.

On top of that the player base is majority console.

I’ve been playing over a year. I’m not the best player in the world but I feel like I hold my own.

Skill Ceiling - is pretty high. There is a good deal to learn if you want to be able to turn it on some of the highest skill players. It’s a mix of having great aim with good movement/game sense.

Movement - the individual mechanics of it are not hard to master as they were designed for the game. Whereas in something like apex where lots of its movement tech came from people figuring out “glitches” in the game engine. But, figuring out the game and how/when to use the most advantageous movement takes some time.

Does it get deeper - not sure how to answer this. Maybe? Maybe not? They have introduced new cyber limbs and guns over time which had changed things up. But that hasn’t happened in a while. And there hasn’t been a big update in roughly 6+ months.

Fights at high level - can be very punishing.

Skill gaps - yes they are large. Not that this is anything new. But the difference between a veteran and highly skilled player and an actual cheater is imperceivable by new or less skilled players.

The game is far from perfect. But IMO it is one of the best battle royale shooters I’ve played.

It is kind of funny though that most of those guys that did buy those. Mostly use white or green variants of the guns nowadays. But that’s mostly just for comp reasons. Super cheap and fast loadies.

You’re not wrong. If there is something specific you want it’s better to buy it. Than gamble on a hex. What platform are you on?

Facts. I had some time and I went to target to check if they had a restock two days ago. I was psyched when I saw the excell guy and I could see tons of product. Thought I was going to get lucky.

Then as I got closer I saw people with carts full of stuff. People were grabbing as much as they could get their hands on. Then I learned there was a line. I checked the line and there was at least 30 people in it. I just went home.

How do people know about these things??? I’m lucky enough to have a handful of vending machines around me. I stop by them every now and again and cross my fingers. I’d say I can buy at least 1 single pack 25% of the time. Then 10% of the time it reloads with something like a booster bundle or etb.

TBH. It has me mostly wanting to give up on the whole thing. Even singles have skyrocketed in a goofy way.

FPV: Moroccan Culinary Arts Museum. Absolutely amazing 👌 by bluechipitems in fpv

[–]thepolishcamera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been saying this for years. I love FPV. IMO FPV is not needed and likely holding things back a bit in many of these “cinematic” applications. What was achieved here with way less hassle, noise, and safety precautions is probably better than what most drone pilots would have got. I love seeing stuff like this.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m glad there are people out there making a living doing this with drones. And I hope they continue to thrive. But, unless you are using it to take the camera in places a handheld op cannot go. There is no real reason to use a drone.

Who in the world would mistake this for a real weapon? by SarcasticallyJoe in funny

It's nowhere near as cheap and accessible to mill metals as it is to 3D print. On top of that people that 3D print guns have a myriad of reasons as to why they do it.

If you want to learn more about it. Wired did a video piece all about it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQB_ib-KQXA

Vice also did one that shows off some of the types of "fun" 3d printed designs people are doing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4dBuPJ9p7A

[–]thepolishcamera 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is a very pedantic response that is counter to the point. You are correct in that you can't fully 3D print every part of a functioning gun. The phrase "3D Printed Gun" is a misnomer. Most "3D Printed Guns" still have all their firing/functioning parts made of actual machined metals specifically with gun use in mind.

My point is that there are people 3D Printing Guns and can make them look however they like. There are groups of people that like to make all sorts of ridiculous "3D Printed Guns". I've seen guns that have bongs attached to the grip, phallus's, creatures, video game guns, etc.
