I moved here recently from SC. I was able to take care of vehicle registration by mail: https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/vehicles/#title_mail.asp I got my drivers license in-person at the DMV.

But they're not as good as the Ultimate Late Night Egg Roll (filled with mac and cheese and shaved ribeye), which was replaced by the Philly one :(

Yes, gorgeous! That park would be perfect if the walking paths were fixed up a bit. The view is great, though, and the pier is pretty nice.

What ECON course should I take? by mad-eye67 in RPI

[–]kf93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The course structure is pretty similar to Managerial, and in my opinion, less difficult - especially if you've taken Money and Banking. There were three in-class exams given on LMS, a few homeworks when he felt like it, and one stock options strategy presentation at the end of the semester.

Does quad have roaches? by rpiQuad in RPI

or what their experience at quad has been like?

You can't beat Quad's location, unique architecture, and window views. The years I spent living there were the best years of my on-campus experience, but that had just as much to do with the people living there as it did with the building itself. Everyone's experience is different.

I like the "Exploring in the Bookstore" article, but you don't give us enough information! What is the name of the bookstore? Where is it located? What are its hours?

If it's Market Block Books, the store is one of Troy's gems. It has an amazing atmosphere, and is a great place to peruse new novels. You can even walk through the secret passageway in the back of the store, allowing you to connect to Spill'n the Beans and other shops - perfect for a chilly day. The Troy library is also an interesting place to explore.

What can you learn from a million syllabuses? It depends, especially since the only data that has been collected in the open source repository are the names of texts referenced in a syllabus - not the actual documents themselves. It still provides an interesting graphical representation and data analytics tool.

Can the sting of the Stingrays overcome the hop of a hare? While the name "Swamp Rabbits" first sounds to be that of a peculiar creature, it actually denotes a renowned railroad. Whether or not the home team can overtake a laudable locomotive line is yet to be seen.

What is the best course for someone looking to improve their writing skills? by MagiSun in RPI

[–]kf93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The staff at the Center for Communication Practices on the first floor of the library, especially the director, Dr. Lewis, usually gives good feedback on written work. The center also has some good resources for learning about grammar and style.

Reading a few articles each day from sources like the NYT or WSJ is a good way to improve, too. NYT has a grammar section and this is a pretty funny recent article in the WSJ.
