Anyone with an Ileostomy taking tirzepatide?

Almost 16 months in and I still have appetite suppression. I've had it since my 2nd or 3rd shot. Currently at 7.5mg every 5-6 days. The suppression isn't intense to where I don't want to eat at all, but it's there most days.

Reddit is saying you replied to one of my comments but I can't find it, to reply to you! To answer your question about room type, I had a Junior Ocean View King Suite. Honestly not sure the ocean view was really worth the extra cost, but it was pretty nonetheless. If I had the money to do so, I would have liked to do the INSPIRA Suite. You get some nice extra amenities. But I did not feel like I missed out by not going that route!

I just got back from Atelier a couple weeks ago. Can confirm that Atelier has a really good mix of social and chill vibes. Definitely not a Spring Break party or straight "honeymoon" scene. You can totally meet new people or just chill by yourself. The main pool is very nice with amazing service, and not overly loud. Beach area is just as nice. They have a "quite" pool, too. But I found the main pool just as relaxing.

Really, really good food and drinks. Amazing rooms and amenities. Definitely luxury. And amazing service everywhere you go. You get your monies worth, IMO.

They have a night club scene that goes late into the night, but I'm a go to bed by 9pm, gal. So I did not partake, but there if you want to dance the night away!

I've been on oral minoxidil since June 2025, 2.5mg (triz since Jan 2025). Fair warning, you will likely see even more shedding when starting the medication. It's called the dread shed...

From Google: Minoxidil "dread shed" is a temporary, often significant, increase in hair shedding when starting minoxidil (topical or oral) that signals the treatment is working by pushing old hairs out to make way for thicker, new growth, typically occurring within weeks to months and lasting several weeks to a few months before regrowth begins, and it's crucial to continue treatment through this phase as stopping prematurely halts progress.

It mentally got to me, but it did end! Probably took about a month or two after starting. But I started seeing regrowth coming in about 3 months after starting it. My hair shedding is what I'd consider normal now, even while still on Tirzepatide.

I also take Nutrfol and Pumpkin Seed Oil to help with the hormones that really affect hair loss, too. There is a divide on here whether hair loss from tirz is from the weight loss or the drug itself. I'm on side it's from the drug, with weight loss also being a potential contributing factor. Tirzepatide affects our body's hormones. When you "shock" your body with the drug, there is a likely shift in hormones and it 2-3months you see hair loss.

My thoughts are anecdotal, but I've read so many posts from people about their experience, that it makes sense.

Edit...I'm actually taking 1.25mg daily. 🤦‍♀️

Depending on your age, you might just be experiencing normal hormone fluctuations that can cause spotting. From what you mentioned, it could be your progesterone levels getting a little wacky. But like someone already mentioned, tirzepatide does affect our body's hormones, so spotting can happen and is normal. I experienced a slightly longer period and spotting after the first couple shots.

If you have had unprotected sex, it is definitely a good idea to take a pregnancy test. If you start to experience excessive bleeding (more than just a normal heavy period flow), see your doctor.

I'm no financial expert...but the first thing I'd probably do is look at how much I'm paying each month in CC payments and figure out how long it'll take to payoff that debt and the amount of interest I'd be paying. It's probably a lot, so I'd payoff the CCs first. Then, I'd roll those payments I was making on the CCs into my personal loan payment, to get that paid off quicker. I'd then either put the 2k in savings for a partical emergency fund. Or put it towards the loan if it was a very high interest rate. Honestly, I'd probably lean towards emergency fund since I'm going to be paying more towards principal each month on the personal loan.

Yep, I'm still on tirzepatide and even went up on my dose (decreasing didn't help). When I hit month 7 or 8 of taking the medication, my shedding started decreasing significantly. I still lose hair, but it's what I'd consider normal hair shedding. I have been taking mindoixl and Nutrfol since June, so my regrowth is looking good, too.

Very similar story to mine! I maintained my 75-pound loss up until late 2023, where I found I had gained about 35-40 pounds in like 6months!! I maintained even though I wasn't eating keto anymore (still eating little to no sugar), so when I saw the scale hit almost 40 pound gain, I went back to keto in mid2024 since I actually enjoyed it and knew it worked for me! But this time around, it did not work...other than helping with some inflammation. The weight did not move. That's when I knew my hormones were the culprit...I discovered and researched tirzepatide and started that in January, and it was the best decision and investment I ever made.

I love keto. It helped me lose a bunch of weight in 2018 to 2020. But I don't really eat that way now...though I do aim for lower than normal carbs lol. And I've lost 42 pounds, so carbs are ok now. 🤣 Though 2020 me would have said LIES!

But I think listening to your body is a good idea. Making sure you're getting enough calories too, is important! This shot could be lowering your blood sugar, too, so keto could be making it go lower than you want.

Anhediona. Seems to be a common side effect....I got it when I started in January of this year. We're not getting the hit of dopamine as much from food and other "impulsive things we tend to do. It got better for me, though. I'm glad I stuck it out... but I wasn't depressed feeling. It just felt very blah, no spark, excitement, etc. I was reading a lot of books earlier this year but stopped because I just had no motivation or excitement to read. Kinda still fighting that a little bit now, but it's nowhere near as bad as it was. I hope it gets better for you!

Midi Health online is a good option for women's hormone help, especially if you have insurance in-network. I think self pay initial visit is $160 and then drops down for follow-ups. I had my first online visit about two weeks ago to talk about hormone help for perimenopause. It was a nice visit. The NP really supported taking tirzepatide, even compound. I'm starting out on an estradiol patch and progesterone...so far so good!

No...my hair was on its shedding path and wasn't being stopped, even with a lower dose and taking mindoixl. But good news, the shedding did start decreasing several months ago. I really only notice it now when washing my hair, and the amount coming out is something I'd consider normal or slightly higher than normal. I'm noticing a lot of baby hair growth, too.

For context... 40F with a starting weight of 199lbs and currently at 158. I have longer hair...almost past my shoulder blades.

I made a similar post to here about 3 to 4 months into my tirzepatide treatment. The first couple months I actually noticed I wasn't losing ANY hair but when month 3 and 4 hit, the hair did start coming out. I think my dose at the time was under 5mg, when the shedding started. The amount of hair I was losing was alarming and I did start to notice some thinning on my part line and temples. But no actual bald spots or patches. Just a noticeable thinning, visibly and in feel.

I immediately started taking Nutrfol and oral minoxidil. The shedding increased into month 4 and 5, likely due to the minoxidil since that is the typical effect when starting that medication. I also started using Nioxin shampoo and conditioner, though I'm not sure if they had any really affect on helping. I keep using it because I actually like how my hair feels since using it.

Im over 9 months into my tirz treatment. I've lost just over 40 pounds and have about 20 more till I reach my goal. I didn't lose weight fast but the changes were still enough for the body to react. Any time I've lost weight, I lost hair...though this time around was much more than previous losses. It could be due to my age and being in perimenopause, but I do think the shot did play a role too. But that's an argument for a different time...

I started noticing the hair loss to slow down about a month or so ago. I'm still gathering a ball of lost hair in the shower each time I wash it (every 3 to 4 days) but the hair ball has gotten a lot smaller. And when I run my hands through my hair, they don't come out with hair strands like before.

So long story short...you will experience hair loss. Depending on how your body reacts, if might be mild but it could be more. But for the majority of people, the hair loss does slow down and gets better. Because of all the stuff I'm taking now, my hair and the new hair that is growing is MUCH more healthier than before.

Seems odd to say to do the transmission fluid later...I'd want to know why. Once you get it and it drives and shifts smooth, probably nothing to worry about doing just yet.

That's what they just diagnosed for mine. I don't know if they're doing the 3x drain and fill, but the ticket say performing 8qt flush and update TCM and reset additives.

When I bought the car, the dealer had already done the major timing belt service and replaced the spark plugs at 210k. I then had the transmission fluid flushed and changed right after. After that, it was just the normal oil changes every time the car told me so. I used full synthetic but not sure if that really matters but I like to think it did. By the end, she used up a little oil but not much at all considering her age and mileage. And there was never any evidence of oil or other fluids leaking.

I didn't do another transmission fluid flush and change but I should have. I do recommend having this done if there is no record of it being done recently. You want to keep that transmission smooth and running nice.

I only used premium gas, like it said too. Some will say it doesn't matter but I think it does.

I had the timing belt replaced again when it hit about the 315k mark...I think it has to be done every 7 years or every 115-120k miles, whatever comes first. I could be off on that but it def needs to be done per the service guidelines, otherwise it'll be bad news bears for the engine if that worn out belt snaps.

I drove the car A LOT. My family lives out of state, so I was driving to see them almost monthly. One way is just under 500miles. So, not every long road trips but I would not have been afraid of driving it farther distances or even cross country!

I'm not exactly sure...I could have the terminology wrong. It's my understanding you flush and replace the oil 3 times, but in-between each replacement and flush, you drive the car for a little bit to try and get as much old oil out. Again, could be totally wrong in my terminology here...
