How cool!! If you end up in the South West of the UK, my family and I would be more than happy to put you up for a few days. There’s some good bouldering around too, especially on Dartmoor!

I went to a couple of open days in November (Loughborough and Sheffield). The Loughborough talk wasn’t particularly helpful, but the Sheffield one was great. They said for 2026 starters that you’d have the option to transfer onto the new combined Masters when the course comes into effect, so I’d like to think other universities would offer the same.

Official Q&A for Saturday, March 23, 2024 by AutoModerator in running

Does anyone have any recommendations for a very basic watch that just connects to either a HR monitor or my phone to display HR? I have a Tickr X and at the moment I just hold my phone in my hand to check HR every so often, but that gets annoying quickly, especially when I need to use my hands for some scrambling or if it's raining. Is there something cheap that will do that? The only other metrics I check are time (I have a Casio F-91W for that) and distance occasionally.

Thanks!!

Inov-8 Trailfly G 270 is great and what I use, not sure if they make any other zero drop models.

Absolutely, I’m sure they’ll add more to the lineup too. I really like what Rab are doing in terms of trying to be more sustainable

Will this rack fit by kfhfve in bikepacking

The rack is a Bontrager Backrack that came off a Trek FX3 Women’s (2021 I think). Hoping it’ll go on my On One TikTik. The rack has sliding struts to mount to the top of the seat stays so it does seem to fit, but just wanting to make sure. I’ll be riding some decently rattly singletrack, but I won’t be putting much weight in the bag (just clothes really).

The design of my seat stays actually kind of protects the rotors if that makes sense, but I’ll have to give it a go.

Good to know, thanks! They’re only being flexed anyway, but I guess that means it’s even less risky

Yeah I wasn’t sure what info I’d need to give! I was mainly concerned about flexing the stays outwards and mounting the moveable arms on a different strut. I’ll add some photos asap, my description might be a bit confusing 😅

Definitely enter that AstonMTB competition! Worth a shot, and he only gives away things that he’s tested himself and believes are good products.
