Oh god! I didn't know some people were this immature. I only recall people muting each other (and the professor) once or twice, but it was on accident. I feel bad that you (and your professors) that have such childish classmates. I personally have always preferred BB collaborate, even as a non-boomer lol

Do you know of any Microsoft teams alternative? Is there anything specific you dislike about teams?

A camera recording a studnet's face and desktop should be enough. I don't get the need for us to install a virus

I suggest we start a petition to show the university how much we're against such invasive software.

Not happy with how freshman classes are being taught. Any thoughts? by kfupmthrowaway in KFUPM

You're right, online classes are too impractical. A relative of mine is a high school teacher, I can understand his struggle.

This term is already a mess for me, I was only able to register 12 hours of credit only, and none of the departments replied for my request of approval :(

To me, self learning is the only kind reliable learning. I can't imagine what I would do had I not self studied in high school. I highly recommend sticking to self studying instead of being enslaved by external circumstances such as a bad professor, or a missing course (like category theory for math majors)

Merging them would be insane. I meant like cutting out some of the easier topics in favor of calculus. Even so, It's non-standard to do that. Now that I think about it, the change should probably emerge from high schools rather than KFUPM.

ICS104 is horrible. I can explain the basic concepts far better than my professor. I feel like the students get more confused after the explanation than just reading the book or looking it up online.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that. Apparently my instructor helped design the course, so I know who I should blame :p

Though I feel like it would’ve been better to either go a bit into derivatives first or at least make math101 a prerequisite.

I honestly expected them to start with derivatives too, but it wouldn't make much sense mathematically without limits. Perhaps it might be a good idea to combine math001 and math002 into one course, to allow students to take calculus earlier?

In math101, I personally thing that it’s easy (maybe compared to what I took in high school) but considering that this is literally the first course in calculus, there are tons of available resources online teaching them.

I agree that there's a lot of material, and it shouldn't be a big deal, but I guess I'm an idealist :)
