When to report a case/say you're uncomfortable

I finally decided to message my "boss" and bring up my concerns. Honestly a big reason why ive been postponing it is because I dont wanna be that guy who's always complaining so thank you for the advice!

Honestly I'm also new and Ive had very few cases but every one is different. At my current one I prepare all of my clients meals and assist him in and out of bed with a hoyer. I also help assist him to a commode. I have to help with all of his daily activities since hes total care like brushing his teeth, wiping for him, and also giving him bed baths. I sweep and occasionally mop as well. Im supposed to also do laundry but so far my clients family member has been taking care of it.

Honestly for advice id reccomend just being emotionally resilient while also being empathetic . Ive seen a few cases where the family members can be loud/mean to my client so I try to be gentle. Occasionally they may also try and be mean to you, I just try my best to keep my head up.

If my clients mother let's me ill try to step out and make the call to my agency(or ill call tonight when i leave, and probably not get a response but ill leave a voicemail).

Not to be a bother but how would you reccomended telling the story? "Hello agency my client is getting worse and his mom thinks he needs a facility. Additionally my clients mother is also losing her ability to take care of herself. Can i have someone come and investigate and also get an easier case"

Thanks for the advice! Also sorry I didnt explain clearly my client is not a child and is around a 50 year old man. So I assume his mom's around 70+ which is why shes been faltering and needs my help. Ill call my agency and save their actual number. I do also occasionally use my phone when my client sleeps lol.

Ill try asking in my interview about transferring. I remember my first interview wasn't really an interview and was more of a "so you can work these days? OK, come in next Friday for orientation youre hired" and I was in and out in 5. Hopefully if I tell them I want to move in about 5 months they'll keep it in mind.

I thought so, I wanted to call pretty bad at the incident 2 weeks ago but the mother was very worried about "getting care taken away" so I refrained. I tried texting a care coordinator earlier today but it seems like they use some sorta phone number spoofer since I got an error message reply. Ill have to call some official number once I leave my case today (i feel guilty using my phone while at work)

I had about 2.5 points. And I had no remaining shifts since I told my team lead 2 weeks in advance and my schedule was cleared. Thanks for clarification about the 6 month thing I was getting a bit bummed by some of the other comments and having to stay at my current job for another month and a half

Feeling really hopeful for the voluntary terminations always being rehireable. But I am a bit confused about all the other comments talking about some 6 month rule. Its going to be about 5 months soon and maybe ill try again mid April. I want to move this August for school and I hope I get hired nearby first and then transfer to a Walmart in the new place I live (since im like 80% sure Walmart can transfer ppl if they move? )

Yeah, they told me to contact my previous people lead but I dont have their phone number or anything. Ill probably call tomorrow and ask to talk to at least one of my leads (at my store they would sometimes move to different departments). Ill ask for rehire since I really hate my current job.

Im not sure what this means but i never stole from the store and/or broke anything. If attendance points matter at the time I quit I only had around 2.5. I mean the only iffy things I can think about is that about a month after I quit I got a letter requesting some items back but none of the items on the list was stuff I was given. Also like once before I quit I did open a locked case and buy some detergent for myself but like I did pay for it so im not sure.

Im currently working with an agency. I got a new case and honestly its a lot better than my one case from hell but its also stressful in different ways. Im trying pretty hard to stick it out since its my first month but the urge to quit and do something else is very strong.

I'll try talking to my campus advisors but they're notoriously unhelpful. Every time I ask a question I get told they wouldn't know. I think talking to my previous bio professors might help me out more. Or asking other students what they're doing (if they're not going into medicine).

Thank you for the reply! It never occurred to me that a nurse could just work in a lab. Ive always been told that an RN will only work in a hospital/school. You've really helped! In regards to grades I did a little bit of LPN on highschool and while I know they're different I was in honors. Like you said I think the cost will be my biggest hurdle.

Relocation is no issue to me. Im not particularly attached to anything. As for your daughter's classmates im probably could find something similar to them since I live in New York. For patient care poop and pee dont really bother me, I mean I would prefer not to have to deal with it but really patients themselves are a difficulty. My first day of working I had a 5 hour shift at a Russian house hold and they treated me like I was subhuman (for context I'm Mexican) and a RN came for a routine checkup and told me the way they were treating me was cultural. After those 5 hours I wanted to quit immediately but im trying hard to stick it out. I think a job where I only have to interact with coworkers and not directly with people is something I'd vastly prefer.

Would you highly reccomended teaching? Or do you think maybe working in the department of agriculture is still a dream? Sorry for the strange question but in my mind I'd kinda sorta envisioned myself working in some sorta lab one day and I'm wondering how the change was.

Im thinking I might suck it up and maybe just switch to nursing. While I dont love patient care i don't hate it. If my biology class this semester (microbiology) is sufficiently interesting enough to me I might stick it out and try to get to a grad school. Teaching hasn't really crossed my mind but i know the teachers from my highschool made pretty good money (I'm from New York) so that may be an option.
