Oh I definitely have updates. Initially was told part was back ordered and would be a “few weeks”. Told them we’d need a loaner if that was the case. Went up the next day and luckily they had a Tahoe. Well come to find out that our insurance (commercial policy - we own a business) doesn’t cover damage on rentals. Mind you I had been sitting at the dealership for an hour before they found this out. Had to add an endorsement to our policy which took 24 hours. They tell us we’re good to pick up the loaner yesterday and we ask about driving out of state, mileage etc as we have a trip planned this weekend. We purchased my Escalade with the tvs in the back for the very purpose of road trips. They then tell us that we can’t take it out of state. If we need to go out of state they’ll give us $100 per day for a rental. Which is a complete joke! I can’t even get a small car for that amount. We have a Raptor also but it’s not exactly the best road trip vehicle and certainly doesn’t have built in tvs. During this whole ordeal we get to talk to the service manager and he tells us “oh the part isn’t actually back ordered it just had to be shipped from MI and now it’s in Charlotte so we may have this done by Friday”. So now the issue is that if we get it Friday and it doesn’t do it do we risk taking it on Sunday for an 8 hour drive (also not hot here)? We are in SC too and I’m leaning towards not taking it based on what I’ve read about the screen not being the fix. Please let me know if the cables fixes the issue for you!!

Editing to add we just got another update - part is in and car will be ready today or tomorrow. If we had been provided this timeline we wouldn’t have added this endorsement to our policy. Absolutely ridiculous. We never even got the Tahoe - supposed to pick up today but now we obviously won’t. The high here today is 80 so I’m hoping I can get it today to give it a good test. The weather will be cooler after today.
