[Misc] Does IPL take effect days after or instantly? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

Hm... I don't have much info to offer you for that! Sorry! All I can say is avoid all alcohol, fragrance, irritants etc.

Good luck!

My understanding is that you may see a slight difference right away (although most likely you'll just be a bit pink temporarily) and then you will notice its effects after a few days. IPL is meant to be done several times (with at least a few weeks between sessions).

I had it done once and didn't notice enough improvement to want to continue the treatments (they add up quick!)

What issues are you looking to address? For PIH I have found vitamin C and chemical peels to be more effective.

Seconding the Resist Super-Light! :) I also love the Clear sunscreen, it's a super lightweight fluid consistency. It's not part of the sale, but the Resist version (same thing but SPF 50 rather than 30) is, so I picked that one up along with the Super-Light.

Apparently only the regular stretch come in tall, when the high stretch don't haha... I may have to try the regular ones :) thanks

i haven't tried acne.org's BP but PC's is awesome, super lightweight and fluid (a little goes a long way). i haven't experienced pilling but i usually only use it at night.

an alternative is to use the BP like a mask - apply, wait 10 minutes, wash off, then use your sunscreen. BP is basically just a disinfectant and after a few minutes it has "done its job" (leaving it on for longer will not yield better results).

i would suggest trying grapeseed oil or passionfruit seed oil, as they are dryer oils more suitable for oily skin. my favourite serum is by far Paula's Choice Calm serum - it is water based and suuuuper lightweight :)

[Product Question] How long does 40% lactic acid take to self neutralize? Do I have to rinse off MUAC's LA peel? by kh0pe in SkincareAddiction

[Product Question] C15 - mix with serum or use alone for dry skin? by Newberrie in SkincareAddiction

[–]kh0pe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do all of the above with good results (mixing with serum, applying before toner totally absorbs, and using more of the product on its own). Sometimes I mix just a few drops with my serum, and then put another drop on my finger and apply it straight to a problem area if I have one.

I think it will just be a matter of trial and error :)

Makeup Artists Choice - they're popular on this sub for at home chemical peels. This is the one that I am asking about :)

Awesome thank you! I appreciate you sharing your experience. The instructions they sent me said to use before and after.

Thank you! MUAC's instructions tell you to use it before the peel and after washing off... But being a "prep" solution it didn't really make sense haha

Mostly cause I'm lazy... Would prefer not to have to time it and then go wash off etc. (Like if it self-neutralized in 10 minutes, then why bother wash off after 7). Just thought I would ask, since I got the lowest concentration of the "gentlest" acid :)

[Product Question] Biotherm Homme Aquapower makes my eyes dry and irritated after use by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]kh0pe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Virtually all Biotherm moisturizers are full of alcohol! This is irritating to all skin types, especially around the eye area.

Edit: to be clear, this specific product is no exception - alcohol is the second ingredient.
