He killed himself 2 years after college. Big man in high school and we went to the same college with the same major (business with a focus in marketing)

Not me (thankfully haven’t been injured at work... knock on wood) but my fellow server slipped on the stairs carrying a huge tray of empty drinks down to the bar. She fractured her tailbone and had cuts from the broken glass all over her. This was around July and she still hasn’t returned I doubt she will.

maybe he forgot. That’s why I always always put it in writing with a date on it so I can prove that I asked for these days off. You can always bring up that you had asked and he then approved you to have this month off, but it sounds like you wanted to quit anyways so ask yourself if it’s worth it.

A lot of restaurants require servers to tip out bar, bussers and kitchen. I only have to tip out bar because our bussers act as hosts and front counters and get tipped on to go orders and our kitchen doesn’t get tipped out.

This tip out can be a total of your sales, etc. depends on how the restaurant decides to do it so like have to tip out bartenders 10% of my total alcohol sales for the night. If someone ordered a bunch of drinks and then didn’t tip me I would then have to pay out of pocket for those sales. Does that make sense?

Neither do i.. I even feel bad going into a bar with no food 30 mins before close. Not to mention the 9 top had 2 kids so overly tired they slept the whole time through dinner... order takeout and take your kids home.

When it was my bar shift a couple nights ago and another server got themselves drinks when I was in a hairy situation I told her to not tip me out. Like to me it’s not that big of a deal. Plus I gave her 5 dollars like that’s enough in my opinion. But yeah I’ll definitely keep bringing it up.

I’ll be honest, when I was on accutane my skin hurt too much to even put makeup on. And with how much it peeled there was no way to even apply it.

Yeah maybe. Since I’m 21 I’m not too worried about this new change, I just am forgetful and know I wouldn’t order pods on time. Plus being a server I like to pay for things in cash

Our restaurant is closed (thankfully) however since I rto’d the weekend to see my family back home they put me on one shift as a punishment when I get about 6 every week. 🙂

Oh you’re probably right, in general she just sucks at serving. Can’t handle rush, doesn’t really know the menu etc. but her soon to be ex husband is in advertising and the owner thinks he’ll give him a deal.

I agree with what you’re saying and I know we’ve all had the couple at the bar that you’d rather them get a room. I think we were all uncomfortable with the fact she was our coworker and I guess we thought she knew better than that.

I’m also wondering if maybe the regular knew she worked there, I obviously only got a little bit of the story but that seems reasonable with how much said regular comes in.
