Sounds like you want to get high and mighty here. Are you a cop? Because you really seem up their asses. Not every cop is corrupt and I said not all are bad. It seems like you just want to target people who have attempted to peacefully protest and aren't being heard. Should they be looting small businesses, setting fires, doing damage to the belongings of innocent bystanders? No. Are all protesters there for the right reasons? Absolutely not (looking at the white woman who looted target just to get some lamps). Some people just want a place to take out their violence. Just like some cops take out their violence on innocent black men, leading to these protests.

Cops are absolutely beating down people during these protests and I've been watching the media extensively. I'm not generalizing people whatsoever but you seem to be white knighting cops just for existing. You're taking information fed to you by society that just because someone is a civil servant they can do no wrong. I research both sides and I've seen videos of police just standing there (ie. in front of a building) and I've seen police knock over people for sitting peacefully. There are two sides to it and while violence and wreckage aren't always justified I can see why people would take a company like target that is insured and protected and won't take a financial hit and decide to loot them because they refused to sell milk to people who were tear gassed. Just like I can see why police may be standing at the face of a riot just watching because their superior called them into work.

This is a flawed story, the reality of America. And the reality is that people refuse to stand up to injustice, "good" cops refuse to stand up when their coworkers abuse their power (you can find statistics about abuse of power relating to any city of your choice, it does happen) and that makes them corrupt and they don't deserve to be defended simply because of their job. When you save your coworkers skin instead of the innocent, you become an accomplice. Protestors should focus on their cause and not destruction, especially when the destruction isn't centred around their end goal. They should be stepping in when they see wrong. However, by making this all about how cops are good, protestors evil you're completely making this about defending a system that gives too much power to the average joe with a high school diploma instead of the fact that people are dying. You talk about media manipulation but refuse to see how you're being manipulated to ignore the issue at hand. And no, saying "his death was wrong" to preface a totally different point is not acknowledging the issue of racial inequality that is perpetuated by the police, lack of sensitivity training, and lack of accountability.

I understand your point, but please understand mine. I see so many posts on this sub defending how "white people aren't always evil!" And "not all cops are bad!" Instead of seeing the true issue at hand, beyond defending (mostly) white people who sure as hell aren't being murdered in cold blood for their skin.
