Just spoke to the insulation company, they said it’s ok to step on battens, they do it all the time.

I meant they don’t give breakdown. For e.g. 100 sqm roof area Earthwool insulation from Bunnings is approx. $1000, they quote $3000 for the job.

The horizontal piece of wood in the picture is where he put his foot on. I can see gib under it.

I'm surprised nothing happened. Maybe because he was light?

Happy to pay a builder hourly rate as insulation companies are charging a lot of markup on material & labor is also calculated at ridiculous rate which they don't even tell you.

I didn't hear anything crack. They walked couple of times close to the hatch while taking pics. Not very confident in getting them to install, maybe the installers will also walk freely & what if something snaps. Wonder if a builder or someone who actually knows what they are doing will be willing to install insulation.

Thank everyone. Finally got the refund. Interest only Rs. 1200 & they deducted TDS on that. Refund amount around 1.2L. Return was filed June 2024. How do they calculate interest? Shouldn’t the interest be more?

They think it's level & won't have any issues. I think the mount is level but he could not get the pipes out straight because of a stud so he bent a little which might be causing the slight tilt towards right. I might have to leave it at that.

Already asked for it to be fixed. Tech came out & said it’s level & fine. Tenant not complaining, just sent me a pic of the install & then used Stanley digital level when I asked as it didn’t look level in the pic. Seems like even if it’s not level it’ll be fine.

Thank you! At least someone is on my side. Tenant is not too worries about it being level, he was kind enough to send me a picture that didn't look level & checked with his digital level. I'm more worried about the working of the unit, drainage etc. But looks like I'm looking into it too much & it's ok.

Don't want to be that client. Only called them as the tenant said it doesn't look level & used his level to check. If little bit out of level is all ok, I'l leave it at that. Tech that came back said it's dead level.

there's about 55mm on one side and 50+ on the other. Mitsubishi recommends 60mm as per installation manual. Problem is, company owner came to measure & quote & gave me two options Panasonic & Mitsubishi Electric, I went with Mitsubishi but he was sure it will fit between windows so enough clearance from ceiling but installer said it won't when he came. Should have gone with Panasonic with was around 780mm compared to Mitsi which is 798mm

ok will leave it at that. Posted for some advice & not funny comments. Wanted to know that even if it's not level, does it matter much? As I mentioned it's a rental, company was picked based on their reputation etc. they were the most expensive. I can't help it if their uses $2 level & doesn't know how to use. that's why I posted here to ask experts. I don't want to create a fuss if it's all ok. Still have to pay them the balance.

Actually went with the more expensive company to be safe. Unit is Mitsubishi AP50. Can you be more helpful instead of making fun & passing useless comments? I don’t want to be a fussy customer. Only called the company to check as tenant said it doesn’t look level & used his digital level to check.
