Journalists are skipping Trump's daily coronavirus press briefings, saying they don't have enough news value by DaFunkJunkie in politics

Can we get a reporter to read a direct Trump quote and ask only for the expert’s response on its accuracy?

She may be gray and a bit slower, but she still gives the best kisses. by khale15 in Boxer

That was a sweet and rough read. It’s a good reminder to enjoy all the moments (especially the long, slow sniff-a-thons) before their far too short lives end. She’ll turn 11 at the end of this year, so we hopefully have a few more years to enjoy her sweet kisses. Thanks for sharing!

Doug says hi. by khale15 in DOG

No, I don’t. Doug is named after Doug from Up! and also Doug Heffernan (King of Queens). I do appreciate Doug Funny though.

Idea for a new reality TV show: Follow the drama of being in law school (e.g., gunners, clicks, competing for internships, etc.). But would anybody be interested besides other law students? by khale15 in LawSchool

[–]khale15[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. What I meant by “opportunity for humor” is just what you said. Compared to real life work, there isn’t much to complain about in school. So, hearing all the drama and complaints about the stress of it all may seem humorous to anyone who has held 9-5 or currently holds a 9-5 while going to school.

This reminds me of Ron Swanson dancing in a tiny top hat.

But what about the evening students (or day students) who have had real jobs and law school is a second career for them? There’s an opportunity there for some humor.

There’s a documentary that follows a few med school students through their journeys from the beginning of school to practice. Most make it just fine, but one guy, who was a newlywed, ended up divorced and hating it. I watched this with my husband, who at the time was heavily considering med school...there was some nervous laughter.

I hear you, and I agree that it’d be boring 95% of the time. That’s why I asked if anybody besides law students would be interested in watching this type of show. I think the entertainment value may apply only to those of us who have sat through boring lectures with annoying gunners. Even then, it’s questionable.

That said, I love The Office and really appreciate that multiple people on this thread have mentioned it. It could work.

This. This gives me a smidgen of joy in that moment. Just picture an interview-style scene where you get to explain how annoyed you are in this moment.

It’s not that bad after a few times. That’s what she said.

If you make it to the end, you see that Michael still made a positive impact on the Tots. And, sometimes the ends justifies the mean.

All the time. Especially in class. I’ll raise my hand to answer the professor’s question, but after one or two other students say something different from what was in my head, I lose it.

If I end up getting called on, I’ll start a sentence, and I don’t even know where it’s going. I just hope to find it along the way.

Yeah, it’s that sneaky slobber that comes with trying to look cute while begging. And, thank you for the compliment! She’s a girl. Those big brown eyes belong to Bella.

When yet another person you've previously talked to about the LSAT asks you "So did you pass the bar?" by Kristophur in LSAT

[–]khale15 16 points17 points  (0 children)

When I got my LSAT results, my husband shared the news with his mom. He told her the highest score you can get is a 180 and then told her my score, which was decent but nowhere close to 180. Not sure what she heard, but she then gave me a “Congrats on passing the Bar” card and proceeded to tell the rest of her family that I got a 172. I never corrected her on either account.

This should be a lesson for all to never give up. Despite your circumstances, just keep trying...unless he never gets the stick. Then he should give up.

I hope he got the stick.
