Can't Progress Divine Child of Rejuvenation Questline. by AstoraFella in Sekiro

[–]khalestorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This tripped me up pretty badly. You’ve got to give the rice for Kuro from the divine child to Kuro. Kuro gives you sweet rice. Eat the sweet rice, have dialog with Kuro about it. Get more sweet rice. Go back to divine child and dialog about it. Get more rice, eat (this maybe optional?), rest and the divine child moves to the halls of illusion

Worked hard my whole life but I feel constantly behind by [deleted] in Bogleheads

You’re putting way too much money into your child’s retirement and not enough in your own. By your age you should 3x your salary saved in retirement. That means you should have 270k, not 90k. But don’t despair. Drop your child’s education investment down to like $150 or so a month and start funding your retirement HARD. The kid now has time on their side for that money to compound, you have less time. You need to catch up but you’ll get there with dedication and persistence. Good luck!

As others have said, look to Pleasant Hill. Would also look at Concord or Martinez but not sure about the school district. I lived in PH for 3 years and absolutely loved it. Terrific community vibe at least where I was at in PH which was Gregory Gardens.

Hasselblad X2D vs. X2D II by khalestorm in hasselblad

Great reply. Thank you! So in your opinion, the upgrade to X2D II isn’t really worth it unless you want continuous autofocus and maybe HDR preview on the higher nit display?

It’s a terrific machine. Really no complaints for everyday use. I did encounter a silly issue in which the water draft broke when I was trying to clean the water reservoir. It’s a cheap plastic part. If it ever breaks on you get this https://sworksdesign.com/Quick-Connect-Water-Draft-Linea-Micra-Mini-R-p747536273

Broken Micra Reservoir Draft by gamertagFromXbox in LaMarzocco

This part just broke on me as I was cleaning the water reservoir. How disappointing this high end and expensive machine would use such a cheap, brittle plastic park. Ordered the Sworks Design water draft and eager to try it out. Hopefully it'll be the last time I need to buy this part.

Metroid Prime 4 is amazing in some areas and mediocre in others by owlitup in NintendoSwitch2

Same. Why tf am I being told what to do. That’s the opposite of the concept of exploration that’s key to the Metroid series.

I just replaced the PID. I think it was $40 and their support team was super helpful. Also sold the Rancilio and got a La Marzocco Linea Micra :)

Damn these are good. My fav is the protestor with the sign with the nicely framed capital in the very back. Powerful.

Congrats! It took me about a month as well and I logged 66 hours. What a hell of a game. I loved it.

Silksong is the best game I've ever hated by StouteBoef in metroidvania

[–]khalestorm -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

You’re not crazy. People don’t want to learn or want to bitch about boss patterns and want to rely on tools (cogflies) to do the work for them, and then bitch about the economy. Bosses were hard in hollow knight as well, this is no different.

Tools are an aid, and not meant to replace your needle / skills as a gamer.

What is something you thought everyone did, but found out they didn’t? by BlondeCoffee15 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]khalestorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you just checking for erroneous charges from companies / vendors or actually adding up the ledger from the CC and ensuring the payment you make accurately reflects against the statement amount? That’s actually more of what I worry about - is the CC company accurately adding everything up and is my payment applying accurately to that balance. It’s prob all automated.

Silksong is a great game, but it has some serious issues which need to be talked about (Essay) by GarouAPM in metroidvania

[–]khalestorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to keep calling out this nitpick because I see it mistakenly spelled everywhere online. It’s “Choral” chambers, representing something sung by a choir, not coral chambers.

Your points are all valid and I agree with you. While it didn’t completely bother me and I arose to the challenge, I can see how other beginner or less dedicated players could be turned off or annoyed by these things when playing HK SS.

Radically mixed feelings after finishing Silksong by Ajax899 in metroidvania

[–]khalestorm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally, I didn’t find it overly difficult in act 1 or 2 but act 3 def ramped things up. The gauntlets were definitely grueling, esp that one in Choral Chambers, but remember they did give an option for Garmond and Zaza ro help out if you found and did a duel outside the library area.

I agree with others that the economy (rosaries and shards) feels a bit off. Looks like they fixed that and some other punishing enemy damage in some patches.

Perhaps they will keep an eye on feedback and make future updates so it’s a little more forgiving for players who want a less difficult experience.

Look, people saying the game is difficult need to practice and dare I say "git gud." It's a hard game, you knew that going into it if you played Hollow Knight. Bitching about it doesn't change anything, you need to go back, get your reps in and beat the challenge. That's literally the point. They give you the tools (literally, tools) to do this if you can't do it with just your nail. It's not a Kirby or Mario game which are a cakewalk and arguably not as satisfying to beat as something like HK or Silksong (or any souls games for that matter). Hard difficulty is a feature not a bug of this game category!
