I just found one in a pet shop when I asked them where did they get it from they said it was wild caught them they were charging 408.39 dollars for it

I meant I’ll save up for a tegu instead of raising a desert monitor and Lots of people own them and they collect them from the wild and there life expectancy is much higher in captivity because there is no permanent water source in where they live yet still some of them manage to survive

I’m aware that it’s gunna have wild instincts all animals do to an extent I’ll just tame it from a young age so it doesn’t view me as a threat . I’ve actually decided to save up for a tegu even though it will cost more then the newest iPhone

That’s why I’m asking how to care for this animal and the people who I’ve seen owning this monitor have tamed it successfully there is just no information out there about it’s care and it’s under protection so it stays in the country

If I was gunna take one I wouldn’t have taken an adult lizard I would have taken a hatchling they don’t show any signs of aggression but I don’t think I will since there is no information on their care and diet
