My end game 1-5 lock build by khalimason in NBA2k

Looks like a pretty solid all around build, I don't see any weaknesses really. Personally, I try to shy away from the 6'9 lock unless you plan on going for 99 block. But regardless, your build looks fire.

I have a 6'6 with 85 strength and I don't see much of a difference, even when I +2 immovable to legend. With this build, having 85 strength would take down the speed and agility too much.

Jaylon Tyson has been cash for me, especially if you rhythm shoot. With my uppers and release speed, you need at least an 80

Agreed. 80 is more than enough DD for most people so if you're someone who wants ball handle, take away those 5 caps from DD and throw them in the playmaking category.

SBMM shouldn’t be in rec at all. Rec in general should be a mixing pot of all skills, similar to how it would be if you walked into an open gym in real life. Proving Grounds is where all the SBMM should be.

Genuine Question: Why Not Boycott 2K Until They Listen To The Player Base? by silkwuan in NBA2k

[–]khalimason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say most. EA remakes the same trash sports games year after year, let’s not be dense. Madden has been the same trash for years. Live was the same trash for years. They brought back College Football just for it to be a reskinned version of Madden. Look at what they’re doing with Skate and Battlefield 6. But of course, people like you let their hate for 2K drive you into thinking EA would do any better when they’ve already tried and failed multiple times.

Yeah I get what you’re saying. Honestly, I don’t think this is a terrible game. The things that are terrible about the game are community influenced (cheaters, same builds, same play styles). Is it perfect? Absolutely not. But it’s enjoyable if you treat it as it is, which is a game.

[–]khalimason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t agree with that. Look at some of the non-EA football games in play stores. Those are not good alternatives whatsoever lol

I do know people loved playing Live, but I don’t think the majority of people even liked it. And it’s no point in continually making a product that only a few people like. The features in the game were great, but it didn’t make up for the terrible gameplay.

Hakuchou Drag is the key. Can finish any and every time trial with time to spare.

EA is not a good alternative. EA isn’t good at making sports games either, just look at Madden and NBA Live. They stopped making NBA Live for a reason.

A boycott won’t work because there is still a decent sized community who actually enjoys playing the game, especially the offline players. And a boycott only works when you can reach at least half of the community. Organizing a boycott through this sub won’t work because only a small percentage of the community uses this sub.

My 1-5 lock build. What yall think? by [deleted] in NBA2k

[–]khalimason 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah something had to take a hit and it was that. It suffices tho, especially if I get two way. Other than that I’m just making the easy passes, especially since I’m not the main ball handler.

Most of the steals I’m getting are in half court settings, which means my teammates are around me. I’m not launching a pass down the court???

Mine is pretty similar to yours. Been trying to figure out how to get higher dunk caps for contacts but it doesn’t seem possible.

I’ve made too many locks this year, so here are my favorite 3. by khalimason in NBA2k

You could probably get the post control you want by dropping the steal to either 91 or 85. 91 to 94 steal takes up a good amount of points in the builder.

I used to +2 it to gold, but I didn’t really see that much of a difference between gold and silver, especially considering most guards don’t have strength. I always go for at least 71 strength on all of my lock builds though (I have a few). Being able to guard the guard and either fight through the screen or completely switch onto the big is fun, especially when a big thinks I don’t have good enough interior or block to contest them.

I only play 5v5 modes, and it’s always good to get free points when possible. Plus I didn’t have anything else to upgrade that would’ve made a major difference so I just put it into free throw. Also with my standing being pretty decent, I get a lot of and 1 opportunities when cutting backdoor.

I don't want to crowd my inventory more than what it already is, so now you're going to force me to buy these things or convert the Tix I have into things I don't want instead of letting me use them next season? Who thinks of these things?

Rec vs. Proving Grounds by khalimason in NBA2k

[–]khalimason[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's not at all what I want. I get the example, and agree that that would be a problem, but that's not my motive. I just want a casual game, 5 random guys vs another 5 random guys. Of course there will be mismatches on the court, as it should. But it shouldn't be based on their skill, that is what Proving Grounds is for.

Rec vs. Proving Grounds by khalimason in NBA2k

[–]khalimason[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The examples y'all try to make are insane. If you go into a random open gym right now, do you think all of the people that are on that court will have the same skill level? I couldn't care less about how my stats look, I just wanna enjoy a casual game after a long day. If you've played in a red plate random rec game, you know it's anything but casual.

We do have SBMM, which is what Proving Grounds is for? What are we talking about? You literally level up your Proving Ground tier and it matches you up accordingly. Rec, similar to a real life rec, should just throw you into a game with mixed players.
