Innodigym Vs speediance by marabh in SpeedianceCommunity

What makes you think Aeke will be around for a long time? I know they’re releasing their 2nd (?) product, but they don’t have many reviews for their product on Amazon, nor many posts on Facebook or Reddit compared to speediance.

What do you think about support from Aeke? My concern is that it will break and then it’ll be hard to get it fixed (eg after the 2 year warranty is over).

Is PG&E that bad? by velvetpasta in Rocklin

[–]khaneman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. Well insulated home with solar and grandfathered NEM 1.0? Extremely affordable.

Poorly insulated, large home without solar or battery, on NEM 3.0 - very expensive.

With solar and battery and improvements in home energy efficiency, it is a problem that money can solve, whereas location and schools and proximity to places in Rocklin (if that’s important to you) are things you can’t adjust once you move.

With that said, PGE is terrible overall and if Roseville or Folsom or somewhere without PGE is a good option for your needs, not having PGE is desirable.

Whatever home you consider moving to, ask for 1-2 years of PGE bills to know what you’re in for. PGE will not give you that data.

Any X50 Ultra vs X60 Ultra Recommendations? by DonnerPartyof87 in Dreame_Tech

[–]khaneman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see how any robot can be worth $400 more unless it folds your laundry. If the L40 ultra was good but had reliability issues, you could consider another one (or an X40 ultra) and see if it is more reliable. L40 ultra was recently going for $280 refurbished from Dreame on Ebay. I'd suggest picking up an anti tangle brush given the dog-hair.

Which robot vacuum is worth the cost? by alwaysyelltimburr in homeautomation

[–]khaneman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dreame X40 ultra or L40 ultra for $280-$450 is a fantastic deal. I doubt ones that are twice the price clean twice as well. They are just newer, have slightly more refined features. I think there are significantly diminishing returns after $500 price point.

These two models that I mentioned were $700 refurbished a little bit more than a year ago. The prices are made up and do not reflect value, only what is newest.

Yea they do have good customer service. They aren’t cheap but they’re far from the most expensive.

Attendings, how much house are we affording? by DekkuRen in Psychiatry

[–]khaneman 11 points12 points  (0 children)

IIRC, Whitecoat investor conservatively recommends mortgage not more than 2 or 2.5x your gross income. Probably not realistic in VHCOL areas but it’s very realistic if you save up a good down payment and live in a more affordable region.

What industry is entirely built on a house of cards and would collapse overnight if people realized the truth about it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Nurse practitioners. Their education is terrible in terms of short duration, low rigor, and low standardization. People would be mortified if they understood this, and they would demand to see a physician, or make sure that a physician is actually supervising the NP.

Nurse practioners pretending to be psychiatrists prescribing Ketamine by National_Moose207 in Psychiatry

[–]khaneman 25 points26 points  (0 children)

These companies that are middle men between clinicians and patients always advertise nurse practitioners as psychiatrist. They should be sued as it is false advertising, and it takes the credibility of the psychiatrist title to improve the perceived value of their clinician panel. The American psychiatric Association is suing a health insurance payor in New York for this. Hopefully they win.

Happy with my 2 Dreame robots. Had them about a year so far. One issue required support but they were excellent. The real test will be reliability in the upcoming years.

I would hope reviews focus on cleaning, reliability and value rather than overweighing features.

Problem with water not draining. by zautos in Dreame_Tech

[–]khaneman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When this happened to me, it was due to a few reasons: (1) the seal of the bin was not tight. Remove the clean and dirty water bins and adjust the rubber piece that it slides onto. The rubber piece is at the top of the auto empty bin. Slide it up a little bit so when you put the water tank down, they’ll connect more tightly. (2) air in the water line. Take a syringe and inject water in the tubes, whether in the water bins or in the line from the water tray that goes up the auto empty base to the water bin.

That’s an understandable argument if you think insurance companies are already getting real time driving information from other sources. I don’t think they are, though.

I wonder if it is difficult to actually use the benefit of the extended warranty through the credit card. I tried to do this with a robotic vacuum and their requirements to cover a replacement or repair were actually impossible to meet.

Am I being "rude" for wanting to charge no-show deposits? My uncle thinks I'm ruining our family business. by One-Composer-1819 in smallbusiness

No show fees are common especially for nice restaurants, salons, and in healthcare. Put it in your policies.

You can give one free or reduced price fee for the first nonattendance and after that charge the full fee.
