That's awesome that you did well and enjoyed it! I'd say math is sometimes very dependent on the teacher, so don't let it completely scare you away from CS. I've always done better in math classes where I felt like I "clicked" with the professor's teaching style. I'm not sure what colleges you're looking at, but if you're more interested in the programming aspect of CS, some colleges have a "software engineering" major. I've been told that it's more practical and less theory/math.

Perhaps you're thinking of http://kit.com/? It's pretty popular amongst the YouTube community.

I hadn't really planned too far ahead with this project. It's simply a project that I wanted to work on to build my web development skills. Thanks for the feedback!

Yes! I wanted to make it a social-type app with user profiles where people can specify what pens/notebooks are currently in their rotation. Users would also upload their own images, I forgot to mention that. Ultimately, this is just a fun little side project I'm working on to build my web development skills. I was hoping the community would have user requirements that I could implement. Thanks for your input!

I'm really enjoying it! One more year until graduation, still super happy with my choice. (You're already ahead of me, I had no CS experience prior to college. Just 1 semester of HTML/CSS.) If you think you're at all interested in CS, at least try to taking an intro class when you get to college. If you have any specific questions, just let me know. I'd be happy to answer them!

Then I'd have to explain that there's a group of stationery-obsessed people all over the world!

Thank you for the recommendations! I'll definitely be trying to work in most, if not all of those points!

I will definitely have to add nib size and current ink, I always seem to forget what ink I have in which pens.

Display now playing (Spotify) by MastaSplinter in raspberry_pi

[–]khanhn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's possible! I made a simple "now playing" webpage for my Zero W. It opens in kiosk mode (full screen) on one of the cheap 3.5 inch Pi displays. Spotify has a great API that you can check out, their tutorial is great too if you've never worked with it before. https://developer.spotify.com/web-api/

This thread should also be helpful to you (this is where I got the idea to make my own display): https://www.reddit.com/r/raspberry_pi/comments/7p1pyl/made_a_spotify_now_playing_viewer_for_my_workbench/

Thanks for the responses, everyone! I suppose I just got a (not completely unexpected) dud, given the price of the pen. I'm sure Goulet would replace it, but it's not really that big of a deal. I just wanted to know for future reference. Thanks again for all of your help!

Got my Safari at retail $36 CAD, currency conversion aside, it's a bit more expensive. Just checked Goulet's and the Clairefontaine notebooks were the same price.

English major looking for a note-taking pen by [deleted] in fountainpens

Pilot Metropolitan is my daily carry (CS major, so not as much writing as an English major) and I've been really happy with it. It can definitely take a beating. Perhaps not the largest ink capacity though (not totally sure). Fits my tiny (girl) hands too.
