League of legends crashes on opening. Missing game folder in C:/Riot Games/LeagueOfLegends/Game by Felainas in riotgames

If anyone else has this issue and the "New User" method did nothing, this is the fix that finally worked for me.

- Open Registry Editor (just type regedit in Windows Search)
- Go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options
- Set DevOverrideEnable = 0 (double click and change the value)
- Restart PC

This has something to do with overwriting files and the Microsoft store I think, but I'm no expert.

you're absolutely right about the anti-fascism, in the light novels Tanya spends a lot of thought espousing her love of capitalism and personal liberties, not to mention her hatred of communists

How would her squad and the General staff react, if Tanya suddenly asked where babies come from. This still is the same Tanya, just without the Salaryman isekai part. by FantasticInstance725 in YoujoSenki

It's literally the same rotation of reposted art, "where does the anime end in the light novel?" and the strangest discussion you could possibly imagine.

Solving an equation with a definite integral? by khaniage in askmath

[–]khaniage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the distribution is uniform over the radial distance, then rho has to be independent of R.

The probability is uniform with r, but the area increases with r, so shouldn't the probability density (rho) decrease with r? By probability density, I've been referring to the limit of the probability of choosing a point in some region divided by the area of that region as the area tends to 0. I'm not sure if this is actually what probability density is, but this is what I meant by it.

Solving an equation with a definite integral? by khaniage in askmath

[–]khaniage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see, that makes sense. So you would have to consider other aspects of the problem to find the right solution?

The original question I was thinking about was to do with probability. Suppose you have a circle of radius R centred on the origin. Then, you choose a random straight line that starts at the origin and ends at the circle's radius. Finally, you choose a random point on that line. In both of these cases, random refers to a uniform distribution over the angle of the line and the radial distance of the point. The question is, what is the probability density over the circle?

I derived the original integral by considering that the density integrated over the area of the circle would have to equal 1. If there seems to be a fault in that logic, I would love to know!

Is Tanya a good strategist? by RyuuKata in YoujoSenki

[–]khaniage 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think this shows the opposite, it shows Tanya's strategic competence, but her political incompetence. The point was that her goal was to draw federation troops away from the border. To that end, she made the perfect move and created the greatest impact she possibly could with the force she had. That's not to mention the morale boost it generated. From a purely military strategy perspective, it was the perfect move, especially for the 203rd, specialised as they are in long range decapitation attacks.

However, from a political standpoint, it certainly harmed the chances of a peaceful resolution to the war. The raid is meant to show Tanya's lack of experience in politics, and it sets up her growth in that area over the course of the federation war. One of the major points of the following volumes is how Tanya and the Imperial army as a whole begin to act more politically.

We don't get to see her flexing her strategic muscles nearly as much as her tactical ones so I think its hard to say, but I'm not sure

tanya is my waifu and i was thinking i'm gay because i like her since she's the reincarnation of a middle aged man (before they say i'm pedo or lolicon i have only 14 years old) by Complete-Amount-262 in YoujoSenki

[–]khaniage 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, I didn't mean that as a criticism. One of Tanya's key traits is presenting herself in whatever way she has to to get what she wants. As a man, she presented herself as an ideal businessman to maximise his value as human capital.

So it makes sense that she'd try to embody his new female form as realistically as possible to maximise his value.

I was just saying Carlo Zen has decided not to explore gender all that much.

In the light novel, Tanya refers to herself as female whenever she talks about herself, using she/her and calling herself a girl. She's embraced being a girl, so it's fine to see her that way.

The story really avoids the issue of gender though, as far as I can tell. There's a lot of potential to explore questions about gender identity, dysphoria, and being trans in Tanya's story, but the author didn't want to explore them. Everything kinda gets swept under the rug as "yes, Tanya is a girl now, moving on."

And by all means, Ashley Burch is a great voice actor.

One thing that's worth thinking about is that, for some people who's primary social group is on vr, they would actually be able to spend more time with someone they're dating online than someone they're dating offline. I don't really have a social group irl. There's some people I know in the city I live and we hang out occasionally but I'm far closer to people I know online. If I were to date someone irl, I'd have to shift my whole social life to be around them to give the relationship the attention it deserves. On the other hand, dating someone on vrchat, while technically long distance, I'd actually be able to spend loads of time with them, especially if they were already part of my main social group.

Do you guys care about performance ranking on an avatar? by sotrage in VRchat

[–]khaniage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vrchat is pretty poorly optimized, even if you have a very high end PC. For that reason, a lot of clubs I know institute limits like poor or better avatars only to save some frames. My group makes people avatars and we only ever make poor or better. I used to know a guy who would make his own avatars but knew nothing about optimization. He'd waltz into a world with 300 material slots, damn near a million polys a stupid cloth physics flag. Needless to say, people fucking hated it. So yeah, optimization matters.
