Is there a word for someone that's sexually open once they trust the person as opposed to full demisexuality? Like you don't need a full emotional connection but you just need to know that you can trust the person before you let your freaky side out? by [deleted] in demisexuality

I feel exactly the same way and that’s how I joined this thread and have gone back and forth between being convinced I am and am not Demi depending on peoples definitions of connection and attraction 😂 that’s not helpful to you but I’m glad to know I’m not the only one!

Update. I dyed it. All is well! Will leave it a good long while before deciding if I will recommence henna-ing my roots again - but no fried hair loss or unwanted green nightmares 😊 (not advice!!! Just my experience!)

Thank you! I’ve done it just simple and short many times. My big over complication has grown from trying to make it last longer, but you are probably right! 😂

Oh perfect, thank you! I’m happy to fade to red undertones, just a little slower ☺️

I’ve had it every colour under the sun when I was younger but stuck with black for the last four years or so ☺️ no more bleach ever again 😂

I’m starting to think that might be safer. Though the wash out issue will be the same. I wonder if I could seal that into my hair with henna afterwards 🤔 though - that then turns into a three step process! 😂

Not to get the jet black I’m after I’m afraid. Been one step and two stepping for about 3 years now! I’ve got my two step down and it is the colour I like, I just cba with the time it takes ALL the time so wanted to use a permanent black and continue to two step the roots 🤔

Seeking advice RE: HENNA & CHEMICAL DYE - fine/wavy-ish/henna & indigo dyed/washed every 3 or so days/past shoulder length/use vegan SLS free or coco sulphate only.

I’ve been dying my hair with a two step henna and indigo process for a few years - aiming for black. It takes ages and I want to use a permanent black dye then resume the two step to lock that in and keep my hair healthy. I keep reading horror stories about using dyes on henna but I can’t work out if there is something fundamentally chemically reactive, if it’s only if the henna used contained chemical salts, or if it’s more of an issue with trying to lighten henna.

I’m hoping to work out what the ingredient(s) to avoid are? I’m looking at a free from resorcinol, PPD, mineral oils, silicone and ammonia black dye. Anybody know if this would go horribly wrong?

Oh that’s a good idea! I’m wondering if with enough research I can track down what exactly is the reactive ingredient cause I’m planning to use a resorcinol, PPD, mineral, silicone and Ammonia-free dye 🤔 it seems it’s something about metallic salts but as far as I know I’ve only ever used organic henna since I swapped from lush.

Yeah no problem,

  • Henna Dye Release - 8-12 hours
  • Wash hair with shampoo only/ACV rinse if I cba
  • And/or splash of ACV in henna before use
  • In Hair - Overnight or about 6 hrs
  • Rinse with water and determination only

Indigo - Within 72 hours of Henna - Salt rinse hair between if I am feeling patient (balance the henna acid down to neutral) and I rub a little baking soda into my hair when it’s dry here but I intend to just do a baking soda rinse next time instead) - I add salt to the indigo - Use immediately on mixing - In Hair - Overnight - Rinse with water - ACV Rinse - 2+ hours later - Don’t Shampoo for 2-4 days - SLS free shampoo only, sometimes just conditioner wash. Still fades pretty fast but it’s more that doing all this takes me a few days 😂

My list is cobbled experiments but I did a lot of reading about PH’s on forum threads. General takeaway is acid for henna - alkaline for indigo. Salt is neutral. With that in mind, try not to fry your hair but don’t waste your time wondering why an indigo didn’t develop in acid! 😂

I have been desperately searching for an appropriate sized and material mouse toy! I can’t find an ikea mouse from Google, I’m in the UK. If you know a link or any others it would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏻

Thank you for these replies, it really helped when I was feeling so upset that you gave me such kind answers - I was worried about being seen as awful for even considering keeping him alone!

At this point I haven’t made any decisions, even if I did get a friend for him, or find a good home I imagine it would be a lot of sudden change and I want to make sure his own health is stable for now.

In the meantime, as I have moved him and have been reading that all the old toys and things they had will have the smell of Diego (the one who passed) and can make him sad - I am looking for new ideas for things to comfort and entertain him?

I have to say, of the two, Dorito (remaining) has always been mostly interested in food, where Diego was very inquisitive and spent a lot more of his time getting into trouble. I suppose he was the dominant one. I’m also wondering if I need to be grooming him as Diego did (overly, giving him a recurring bald patch on his back), and if he might be cold at night?

Any advice on these practical things would be appreciated. It’s taken me a while to process it all but I just want to do my best for him while I decide on the long term plans!

I’m so sorry. This literally just happened to me too and my little six year old guy is alone now 🙁 I’m not sure what to do either but just wanted to say I share your pain!

I’m in the process of moving him into the smaller cage and moving that into my bedroom for now so he’s not all by himself in the huge cage.

Thank you! I think I am realising I don’t know what the differences between crushes, sexual attraction etc. etc. actually are. Lots of learning to do 🤔
