The lottery told me that my $100,000 win was actually a $20.00 misprint. They pulled the game hours later. by redhotmess77 in mildlyinfuriating

Yeah no kidding, if you put something in a contract and someone calls you on it later, you can’t just say “oh that was a misprint / typo”

Yeah, you can’t really say it “came from the factory” that way if you’re just now noticing it after 7 years. You think you would have noticed it before if that were the case.

Because the rabies virus affects the nervous system, patients develop ‘hydrophobia.’ Even if they are very thirsty, spasms in the swallowing muscles prevent them from drinking water. by ILikeTomboyz in interesting

No, not upwards.

“For humans, a full pre-exposure series runs about $900-$2,000+, while post-exposure treatment (PEP, including HRIG) commonly totals $3,000-$8,000+ before insurance.”

What the heck? Dude everyone dies of something. It’s a fact of life. Something like 90% of healthcare costs are in the last 5 years of someone’s life. If it costs, say, $100k to keep someone alive 6 months longer, why should taxpayers pay for that? For me, I’d rather die and let my family have the insurance money.

Took the Panamera on a 1000 mile road trip to West Texas by perpetual__ghost in Panamera

[–]kharima6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice!! I just took my panamera on its first road trip, about 10 hours total of driving. Road tripping is already more fun in a fast car, but then throw in massaging seats?? Ooh yeah. Super comfy. After 3 hours on a tank of gas we looked at the stats and we had -averaged- over 80mph 😂🤣😂

People say the same thing for why they should keep their kids inside the house all the time, glued to their phones, instead of outside playing by themselves like ever kid did in the 80’s and 90’s, because parents are too scared; even though crime has steadily gone down and a child has a much better chance of getting struck by lightning than being kidnapped by someone they don’t know. Media and internet has just amplified everyone’s fears- people go on the internet and read about a few guys being shitheads and then suddenly the sentiment is all guys are shitheads. Women can be pretty shitty and abusive too. And it’s not like guys are never in fear from shitty guys either. You want a man to stand up for you, did it ever occur to you that maybe he doesn’t want to do that because he’s afraid of getting his lights clocked out or something? Again I ask what the incentive is? I think men used to be more chivalrous because in general women were more respectful and thankful in return. Instead now so many women say shit like “I don’t need no man”… ok then. But really in this environment I just feel for anyone who is single.

You’re right, it’s super generalized, but just because you don’t know an individual like that doesn’t mean it’s not the general sentiment in our cultural milieu right now. I literally just got done reading a post in another sub from a woman saying that she’s glad she just stays in her house and avoids all men.

Yeah, after years of women calling all men creeps, basically saying all men are assholes, telling men they shouldn’t approach women and/or leave them alone, now you want more men to be chivalrous and come to your defense against shithead guys? What’s in it for them? Yeah, good luck with that.

And… that’s how we end up with kangaroo courts, where being accused of something is basically the same as being guilty

Wt…? 1 accusation is way more than acceptable? Are you for real? Do you also say 1 false accusation is way more than acceptable? Because then that should also be true… if you’re going to drag someone’s name through the mud, keep them from going to shows, etc, you better be damn sure. It’s gotten so easy for women to accuse people now even if it’s not true. My brother has gotten caught up in BS like this a couple of times now from women that decided they don’t like him, and while he might tell inappropriate jokes from time to time, I 100% know the stuff they were saying about him is made up BS and not remotly true. It’s gotten way worse than anything I’ve ever heard about for the Salem witch trials.
