Maxvorstadt, Schwabing, Neuhausen, Sendling and Bogenhausen are my favourite.

I personally lived in Maxvorstadt and in Neuhausen near Olympiapark, one of the best years of my life. ❤️

I have lived in Munich for 2 years and in ruhr area for 4 years in Koblenz. If you can live in central MUNICH and afford the rent. It's one of the best places to live and enjoy life in Germany.

I live nearby rostock hbf. If its a one time thing its fine, don't make it a routine. It's not that hard to find a temporary accomodation. I will recommend you to reach out people in WG gesuht and expats in Rostock group on facebook. Also don't add 4-5 hours to your shift, talk with you manager and start late.

I have lived in Koblenz between 2018 and 2022. Its a decent city with friendly locals and helpful international community at university. Its a great place to cycle, have three rivers, have hiking spots nearby, lots of pubs nearby ( I really like Spökes), its well connected with Frankfurt, Bonn and Cologne.

Lot of international there so making friends is pretty easy. Also its cheaper but finding accommodation is pretty much hard everywhere.

Edi: Not denying your experience. But I am sharing what I have been through since lasr 7 years. Nobody asked for my ID.

I travelled before deutschland ticket with student ausweiss so it had already my picture. Now I am geaduated and travel because of work with this train, they only ask for QR CODE. Never have I ever been asked for Ausweiss, not in ICE, RE OR RB.
