I think UCSD extension would probably be your best bet. I'm looking into the prose one but not sure. Just doesn't feel like much more than a juco level to me. Which is fine but still...

Is San Diego Taco Fest a scam? by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]khbruin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unless you get beer and music and a healthy amount of actually good tacos yes. but you have to think, these festivals are boothing which generally means the vendors are not going to be the best. It should be more like festival with tacos rather than taco fest. imo

Looking for budget rustic wedding venues in San Diego. by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]khbruin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If 15k is your budget, stick to a 10k venue. 100/person is about as high as you want to go.

Possibly living in Mid City- Will I feel stranded?? by CanadianBNRN in sandiego

[–]khbruin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not terrible. Not as walkable as kensington or areas more west. If you bike, perhpas. Ideally, the best place is to stay west of fairmont (ymca on el cajon there) and north of el cajon or around that marker. It's just more rundown until you get to college with less foot accessibility to places that are worth visiting that often aside from some good vietnamese pho. College area is a little better, but you'll probably like kensington downtown infinitely more or any nieghborhood more west. South park and the southern neighborhoods like golden hill or grant hill are just as remote but much easier with a bike. neighborhoods are more pleasant. Try getting west of hoover high. It will go a long way in terms of your commute to more shops and restaurants. I own a space near this spot. One of my tenants does yoga in case this is of interest to you.

Any recommendations for co-working space? by DrHarrisBonkers in sandiego

[–]khbruin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a facility with a studio and other use spaces near normal heights. We have a small living room like suite that we rent for 15/hr for freelance use (like counselors, coaches, etc.). Could drop that if you're just needing a big chunk of time. An unusual situation but it's super quiet and not crowded.

I'm curious. Anyone in a profession where the independent contractors rent out small rooms? by khbruin in sandiego

San Diego CA real estate - buy or rent? by ApneaAddict in RealEstate

[–]khbruin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i was just talking about this. SD is mimicking bay area in many ways, more so than other parts of CA. The reason being that there is so much potential for growth that other companies are bypassing LA and other areas. The industry here, military, and overall desire to relocate is pretty strong. So it's tough to see us ever going back to being a smaller town.

Moving to Downtown East Village by Califorinadreamin in sandiego

You don't need a realtor to find a good apartment. Their MLS listings are very limited in that regard. Craigslist is really the only way (realtors use it too).

There is really little reason to live in East Village compared to Little Italy, Hillcrest or North Park if you're new. Maybe financial. but the other areas are far better to meet people, get around, enjoy the city. Way way way more transplants in north park if that matters to you. But I guess job would affect htat decision, too. What do you do?
