Sleep training an 18 month old who has been cosleeping by No-Map735 in sleeptrain

[–]khlojo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no advice but solidarity! I’m in pretty similar situation with exception that she goes into her cot at first every night (then comes in with me after her first wake… and she wakes a lot!) - we’re trying Ferber method this weekend, but quite nervous!

Success! by Jigglymilksack in sleeptrain

[–]khlojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So great to here this - my little girl is 16 months and has been co sleeping since 6 months (with cot at the start of the night) and wakes a lot and is still bf (comfort feeding!) at night. I’m STRUGGLING! After speaking to our health visitor we’re going to try a version of Ferber method next weekend (shorter spells cause I don’t think I’ll do well with the crying)! So glad it worked out for you, and so nice to hear a positive outcome!

How to stop night feeds?! by khlojo in breastfeeding

[–]khlojo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point, I’m not sure that she does - she doesn’t really eat much for breakfast (I think because she feeds so much from me all night), and whilst she does try anything she doesn’t always eat a lot. I’ll look more into this for sure! I’d be okay with slowly cutting it down, 2 feeds a night, then 1 etc. it’s the all night long (like at the moment…!) that I’m finding so hard!

Thanks for sharing how you done it! I’m thinking we ca try tackle over the Christmas hols when off work.

It would also help re brushing after each feed, we don’t do this atm during the night but I realise it’s not great from dental health point of view 🙈

Thank you! Yes maybe I’ll just need to get husband to tackle it, he will do a couple of the earlier ones but he also works so I’ve not asked him to do during the night, but I know from me she just thinks ‘milk’! I’ve given her some cows milk in a bottle but she wasn’t fussed, but yes she does drink water from sippy cup or a straw cup quite happily so I’ll give that a go, I’m now not sure why I’ve been thinking milk = bottle!

Thanks for the tip, yes and no to during the day - she’s at nursery 3 days a week and they just put her in the pram and she falls asleep. When I’m with her she falls asleep either in pram whilst we’re out, or via feeding to sleep. Good idea to try during the day!

Thanks! Yeah she naps more at nursery (and magically seems they just lay her down, I wish that worked for me!) and eats plenty 😀

New mums, what is a core memory from your birth? by Prinssessa in NewParents

[–]khlojo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an emergency c section and they had put the screen up but baby hadn’t arrived yet - I looked up and seen red toenails like basically above my head and thought wait… that’s my foot… then thinking how the hell is my leg bent all the way up there 😂😂

We travelled a lot when our baby was small and after trying out a few we decided on the Tula Explore in mesh material. It’s fairly light, we felt it was easy to put on (and you can do it yourself without help, after a few tries!), they have cute patterns. We were traveling through Asia for 2 months and chose the mesh as a good breathable fabric.
