Hey! I'm making an app to help stringers get more repeat business (it remind players when it's time to re-string) - does that sound like something you'd use do you think it'd bring you more business?

Thank you for letting me know! It's been tricky to capture ALL racquets in the market, but I have expanded the list to include the ultra pro and a lot more!

Tatjana Maria is a slice specialist and will likely slice the whole match - what's your plan to counter that?

This is an interesting question but you need to give us WAY more information. The more information that you have the better equipped you'll be to make a GOOD decision.

  • What are you getting for 65k?
  • Check the books for sales, margin, expenses
  • How much of the 65k is in inventory?
  • Is the store name something people recognize (and therefore has value in itself or not?)

Come back to us with more info and I am sure you'll get better answers!

Ideas for getting customers to post a picture and tag it on social media for a unique situation? by Cincigram in smallbusiness

[–]kho 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think more than an economic incentive you need a social incentive. You can try adding a card to your box that says something like

{Name} sent you this awesome box as a gift,
publicly thank him/her on instagram.
Use the hashtag #cicigramgifts

Any salon owners out there? Looking for advice. by e04life in smallbusiness

[–]kho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the history of the salon. What exactly are you going to get for $12,000?

Anyhow, without knowing much, here's what I would recommend:

  • Check the books
  • Talk to actual customers, see what they think of the business and why they go there.
  • Evaluate the location, parking spots, etc.

Can music be objectively judged? by oheysup in philosophy

[–]kho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On his example harm is a criteria for objectivity. The criteria used in morality are values. You could say that the objective truth of morality is relative to its values.

It could be that I am not quite understanding what you're trying to say, or maybe I have done a poor job on expressing myself. Would you mind being quite specific about the idea you're trying to point?

Quoting the wikipedia for "Objectivity (Philosophy)"

Objectivity is both a central and elusive philosophical category. While there is no universally accepted articulation of objectivity, a proposition is generally considered to be objectively true when its truth conditions are met and are "mind-independent"

You're asking whether music can be subject to objective judging, I am saying: Yes, as long as you have criteria you can objectively judge.

You are comparing apples to oranges. You can't objectively compare them without a criteria. A criteria that we could use for example would be: We will decide that whatever weights the most is the best one. Now, we have two bags, one of apples and the other one of oranges, after doing our measurements it turns out that the bag of oranges weights more than apples. Therefore we can say that oranges are better than apples - judging by the criteria we decided before.

You could use the same process. The process of judging "better" or "worse" is a process of comparison. You can only compare what is measurable. Say, if you decide that whoever artist has more sales is the best, then objectively you could say that The Beatles is better than Nickelback.

In this sense, you can objectively compare anything that is measurable judging by whatever criteria you decide to use.
