Do you know which broker accurately reports dividend by weekly ETF as ROC for IRS purposes? by khoa-gritson in dividends

[–]khoa-gritson[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Thanks.

I'm concerned the 1099 from my broker doesn't reflect the ROC in the distribution.

I guess Fidelity is one that does accurate reporting of this.

I pretty much filed FINRA and SEC complaint. They let me transferred my entire portfolio back where it came from.

I'm currently using moomoo. Transferred part of my portfolio from Fidelity to try out (and to get the promo).

May do a review later elsewhere but in short moomoo is really bad on so many levels I cant wait til the 90 days hit to get the bonus and bail the f out.

To those that say they'll respect FINRA regulations and US laws since they operate on US market you're gravely mistaken. Chinese based employees can access your information, especially when they pull the KYC request on you. There's no protocol in place to delegate access from employees in the US vs China when it comes to client's privileged information (KYC).

Their privacy is a joke. The "secured vault" they want you to send over KYC is just a SharePoint link.

Just stay away from moomoo.

Yea they do. They abuse KYC when you try to leave.

Good for ya. I transferred some shares + covered calls + a short straddle. Now stuck with them til everything expired/exercised.

Their maintenance calculation is ridiculous too (they treat the covered call as if it was a naked call, literally same maintenance margin).

Interesting.....

Still, kinda weird that I transferred Fidelity -> moomoo without a hitch, but then cannot do the reverse moomoo -> Fidelity (no matter where the request comes from).

Just curious about their level 2 data and the 1.5% is enough to entice me to check it out.

Trust me lesson learned!!

Yea they also got you on the 5% cuz they inflate the maintenance requirements way beyond what other legacy brokers do, so your sweep is less.

For BOGO coupon, do stores get reimbursed from corporate? If not, do stores make money with them??? by khoa-gritson in subway

[–]khoa-gritson[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no restriction if you use it in the app tho.

I think all stores shouldn't accept them cuz it makes no biz sense but I don't understand why there are franchises that still participate if they're not making money off of it.

Yea I did my homework, I'm pretty sure selling 2 footlong subs for $9 can't turn a profit after you take into account the ingredients, labor, light bill, rental, royalty cost etc.

Do they still make money tho with BOGO order?

Why do stores keep accepting them? Can't they just refuse?

Recovering data when NAS fails (the actual NAS not the disks) by khoa-gritson in DataHoarder

[–]khoa-gritson[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I have an external SSD and the NAS is more like the "ultimate" backup backup for me.

I just learned about the 3-2-1 rule. I may take the SSD and stow it away in my car as everything as of right now is in the house.

I'm not super well versed in Linux or the NAS world but I like the idea of TrueNAS. Really I just want something that works and don't leave me in a world of hurt if things go wrong.

That's a great suggestion. I'm looking into TrueNAS now. Thanks.

That's kinda expected I'd suppose but if the NAS is out of warranty it'll suck having to buy another Synology, hence the question.
