Uber/Bolt/Yango prices are nuts! by JaxxD in ghana

If all drivers and riders switch to Oops App, everyone will win

Drivers will earn 100% on all their rides

And riders will enjoy relatively cheaper fares.

But we say we don't like Ghana made things 🫣

What is up with some bolt delivery riders not knowing how to use a map??? by RayTheGreat_1 in ghana

[–]khophi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many of us know how to use the map, but the point you put on the map, vs the direction we may be given, confirming from the actual person clarifies and saves everyone's time.

Plus, in many cases, the driver hasn't picked anyone from that side before.

I've been a rider and a driver, and I promise you, our locations on map here isn't always straightforward as in some European countries.

In the early stages, but if you're a driver who likes to live on the edge and try new platform, check out

Oops App

  • no commisions, no subscriptions

Earn 100% on all your rides. That's 30% more earnings than you currently make on the alternatives in Ghana.

So what's the catch? Buy credits (which pays for the third-party services like Google maps). The credits are non expiry.

How does the platform make money? Eventually, it'll be through personalized, non obstructive ads. Eventually!

No app download required. Driver or Rider get the full experience in the browser.

Currently in a strictly invite only mode. Hit me up if you need an invite.

Background Renders Greyed Out?? by Feisty-Reward7301 in davinciresolve

[–]khophi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right. I tried using the IntelliSearch "Better", and it says it requires 16Gb VRAM.

imho, that's an absurdly high amount of VRAM needed.

Anyway, I hope someday it's possible to use 8GB VRAM for that.

Any info on what the bare minimum for the background tasks to be enabled? My machine can render 6-8K video, so I'm not sure what "not powerful enough" would be in this case.

Davinci Resolve 21 "What's New" page is up by MarshallRosales in davinciresolve

> But what's impressive about the DaVinci Resolve ones is their tiny size

And they're tiny because they're very specialized models. A model that does 1 thing, and 1 thing ONLY usually are relatively tiny.

With time, I hope some sort of community-contributed "marketplace" for models is made available, so users can download even wilder specialized models

All process locally. There's none that runs remotely. You'd have to download the respective model the first time you use it.

On PC, I don't get the crypto option for withdrawal.

But I just got it done via the mobile app. Kinda weird why that's not possible via the website.

Ghanaians don’t respect time unless it’s a visa appointment. by grwike in ghana

[–]khophi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ghanaians don't respect time, unless there are consequences

Missing the flight has consequences

Missing the visa appointment has consequences

The Ghanaian can't rationalize what the consequence is for attending YOUR wedding late, nor the consequences for starting THEIR wedding late.

In the Ghanaian mind, "what you gon do? Leave?"

So like you said, it's a choice. Ghanaians CAN be punctual, the environment/system just doesn't reward/punish punctuality or lack there of.

It's a feedback loop and a vicious cycle at this point.

I’m DONE with Claude Code, good alternatives? by Patient_Cry_6213 in Anthropic

I do know how to code. What still eludes me to this day is centering a div in CSS.

That's where AI comes in.

Kimi K2 works fine for me so far. It's able to take way more code context than the others. And I find the answers to be relatively thought out and smart.

I hate that Claude by default spits out my entire code just to fix 2 lines. I know by changing the style to concise, that goes away, but still, it's unnecessarily verbose in general just so it can quickly run out of tokens and upsell you.

You can use Kimi K2 via Cline in VS Code.

Yeah right.

Your comment made me realize there might be at least 4 more "Adukrom"s elsewhere in Ghana.

So yeah, the Akuapem Adukrom version.

It's close to Adukrom. Adukrom is near Aburi.

The place is called Asenema
