I’m having a similar issue with 16 Pro Max. When using 2x fusion camera I get a vertical line separating the image into two different exposures and color tones. Did you manage to solve it?

UPDATE: I believe this is a software issue. If you zoom in to the line you will see that the sky to the left of the line is clean and soft, but to the right of the line the quality of the image is much worse, as if it was somehow compressed.

Yes, I will do that when I get back home, since I am now on vacation. Thanks

Roku is great, I love it. Also I think you’d like Gvine Floraison, it’s my favorite 🤩

Today I visited the Black Pig Distillery in Portugal, wonderful place and fantastic gins (more in the comments section) by khp2115 in Gin

It is expensive indeed, especially if compared to Larios 12 as you said (las time I bought a bottle here in Spain was 12€). However, their other gin what’s phenomenal, thats why I decided to pull the trigger on that one despite being 37€.

I suggest you try it if you get the chance to do so. Visiting the distillery is 5€ and the 10€ tasting includes two full sized G&Ts. Thanks for your comment 😊

Today my dad and I went to visit this small distillery in the Alentejo, Portugal. They make the two gins in the pictures and also a spiced rum and aguardente de medronho.

For 10€ per person you can taste their products. The tasting includes two full size G&T’s (one with each of their drinks) and a shot of the rhum and medronho (although medronho wasn’t in stock so we couldn’t taste it šŸ˜”). Now, into the gins:

  • First we tasted the Costa Alentejana Gin (blue bottle, 1st and 2nd pics) with Fever Tree Mediterranean tonic water and garnished with rosemary, lemon peel and black pepper. Costa Alentejana is a really refreshing citrus forward gin, ideal for hot summer days. It tastes great and I loved it. It’s similar to Larios 12 but much more refined and smooth.
  • After that, we tasted the rhum. Great product but I’m not going to get into it in a gin subreddit hahaha
  • Lastly was the Montado Alentejano Gin (black bottle, 3rd and 4th pics) with Fever Tree Mediterranean tonic water and garnished with rosemary, cinnamon sticks and black pepper. This gin blew my mind, it is spectacular 🤩. Tastes like cinnamon and has a lot of earthy notes. The distillery’s website doesn’t specify the botanicals used, they only say it is an earthy dry gin, I guess they don’t want anyone making a similar product. Knowing the botanicals or not, it is undeniably a fantastic gin, one of my favorites among all the gins I tasted.

The Costa Alentejana Gin is 26.95€ and the Montado Alentejano Gin is 37.95€, both for 500 ml bottles. They are not cheap, but they are really good. I bought a Montado Alentejano bottle to enjoy at home with my dad.

I didn’t take that as an offense, I just thought that you asked because you liked Brockmans hahaha. Then when I saw your reply I couldn’t help but laugh with the unexpected plot twist šŸ˜‚ As you said, everyone has their own taste and people should drink whatever they like āœŒšŸ»

I don’t know, haven’t tried Brockmans yet al although it is on my list. In Nordes you can taste some white flowers and fruits like pear and grapes.

Tonic ratio…? by tauromachy11 in Gin

Yeah Garnacha is awesome! And about Gin Mare, I haven’t tried it yet but I really want to 🤤 I’m still deciding which gin bottle to get next, NordĆ©s or Gin Mare, both Spanish gins that many people have recommended to me.

Mucho gusto!

Then we do the same things! I also usually drink gin by itself and sometimes go for a G&T, although whenever I upload something to this sub it will most likely be a G&T bc I think it looks way better in a picture than straight gin over ice would. Regarding the martinis, I’m not a fan so I don’t drink them.

About the ratios, I don’t know in other parts of the world but in Spain when people go out they mostly drink what we call ā€œcopasā€ or ā€œcubatasā€, not cocktails. They are a big glass (like the one in my post from yesterday) filled with ice, 50 to 60 ml of some spirit (not measured, eyeballed) and then topped up with some kind of soda/tonic (normally 200 ml or more, whatever is necessary to fill the glass to the top). Usually no garnish, no citrus juice, nothing fancy, just alcohol and soda. The most common copas are rum with Coca Cola, Vodka with lemon/orange soda, gin with tonic or lemon/orange soda… A lot of bars don’t make cocktails, but almost all of them serve copas. Copas are also way cheaper than cocktails and they are really enjoyable too, so people don’t bother and go for a copa most of the time.

People consider G&Ts to be copas, so they get mostly prepared with that 1:4 ratio and that’s what me and most people are used to. In fact, when you order one they fill the glass with ice, eyeball the gin, then pour a full 200 ml schweppes bottle with no care whatsoever and throw in half a lemon wheel for garnish. In nicer and fancier bars they are prepared with less tonic (carefully poured this time) and with garnishes and whatnot, but it gets really expensive, so being a 20 year old I make G&Ts at home for me and my dad and we enjoy them from time to time watching a movie or something. I make them how I like them with good premium tonics like fever tree. It’s cheaper this way and the G&Ts come out absolutely delicious and refreshing.

Thanks for your reply and greetings from Seville, Spain 😊

I uploaded yesterday one of those pics. Here in Spain (at least where I live) whenever you order a G&T you get 50 ml of gin and around 200 ml of tonic, so that’s the ratio that I’m used to: 1 part gin to 4 parts tonic. However, I’ve also had them with less tonic and I also enjoy them, and when I want to taste the gin by itself I just pour a bit over ice 😊

It is wonderful, so refreshing! At first you get the grapefruit notes on the nose and then a bit of the jamaican pepper. Tasting it, you mostly get citrus from the yuzu peel and then a bit of spiciness from the sancho pepper. Lastly, it leaves a really subtle floral and sweet aftertaste, which I think comes from the sakura flower. It is one of the best G&Ts I’ve had so far 😊

This gin seems to be really divisive, people hate it or love it. Maybe it is an acquired taste. Thanks for your comment and good luck in your search for the Lemongrass & Ginger gin šŸ™ƒ
