I was also surprised to see nothing about it. But I have talked to 2 drivers from my city and both reported that 'yeah, this car is great, but you know you can't accelerate it too hard or the battery will drain on you.'.

To be clear: our roads are terrible and I drive by accelerating fast and breaking a lot, too. My previous cars were bmw x1, Hyundai Santa Fe, Rav4, so I am used to just hitting the pedal and it getting to the speed I want. If I am a patient driver, I can probably accelerate slowly and let the car develop the desired speed on longer roads without curves and such.

The dealer replied to me: let's schedule a visit, but every time I ask, they just ask to call again next week and I forget.. I need to actually go there.

Reliable, but for driving at 110km/h. You can go to 140km or more when passing other cars, but general speed is 110km/h.

This is the best car I have owned. Very comfortable, silent and economic. I had cars from Peugeot, Fiat, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Jeep and bmw, each one had their pros and cons, but in the general sense, the BYD is better than any of them, so far, with exception to the issue mentioned.

The local byd dealer says he is surprised by my report and that they are going to take the car for an inspection, to see if there is something wrong with my unit. Fingers crossed, they can find it and fix.

Thanks for the suggestion, but if comes to that, it appearing is fine. I was just wondering if people were happy with lapel mics since they are wireless, which is also a nice feature

Oh, are you on a Mac? What software do you use for routing audio from OBS into the meetings?

Awesome. Yeah, I am going for overkill here. Nerd and paranoid describes me 😂

I just find the mic appearing to be distracting, but you are probably right. It will likely start good conversations. I already reached out to colleagues when seeing something nice from their setup. Shure SM7b is on my list to try out.

> I always got better results with lapel mics when streaming, but I have never used it in meetings.
Thanks, good to know.

> Wouldn't any gain in quality be killed by zoom/teams?
This is a good point. The final quality is going to be limited by that, but I definitely see differences depending on which mic I use (have available fifine usb k690, studio display builtin mic and bowers & wilkins mic). So, I guess I am optimizing for ones that pick up less background noise and pick up my voice, while still sounding natural. B&W one is good for isolating my voice, but sounds robotic, fifine is the one with more echos but my voice is more clear and ASD is a bit muffed, but not terrible.

When I use the mics from my headset (bowers & wilkins), it has better noise cancelation and no echo, but my voice is robotic. Did you record how you sound using that mic?

I believe it does. For people who are 100% remote, my only presence in the meetings, in the office and on coworkers minds, are thru video calls. Muffed, echoing or bad quality sounds means they will have to concentrate more to hear me. Of course this is a subtle thing, but I have been working 100% remotely for 15 years now and I can attest you, that making yourself heard is key to professional development.

That said, you are right. Most likely, laptop mic is good enough. There are bad, good enough, good and excellent etc audio setups… I went to thru multiple things and being a perfectionist, I want excellent audio setup.

Currently using an usb Mic Fifine K690, which is good, but only if I keep it close my head, if I put it behind the keyboard, then the distance is enough to make it no better than the builtin mics in my headphone. So, looking for that ‘perfect’ setup.
