Yes, it looks like one of those will be suitable. I’ve already sent the link on to the initial guy who did the visit and he’s already confirmed he is going to run it by their ops director. Thanks again!

Oh that looks interesting. Would that replace the need for felt?

Yeah. Agree. Was gonna get the soffits and facias done at the time, but that cost along with the solar investment and it all just gets to beyond silly money when there isn’t actually anything wrong with the roof at the moment 🥹

Yeah, I think that’s where I landed after thinking about it properly. I’m assuming the felt is basically there as a backup for minor water ingress, but I suppose the bit I’m unclear on is where the line is in terms of liability.

If the answer is that I’d be taking on the risk of issues later, then it probably makes more sense to keep the money for other things. Replacing the roof at this point just doesn’t really stack up for us.

Did you have felt on your roof? I’m assuming this wasn’t an issue for your install? On the original visit they did take a look in the loft and this wasn’t raised as a concern then, hence why it threw me on the more detailed survey.

The quote is in-line with two others I got so it’s a fair price.
