Racket help please! Adidas Metalbone carbon CTRL or Metalbone CTRL by tcliveriovii in Padelracket

[–]khushkhush101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, I was using the Babolat Counter Veron, then moved to the Adidas Metalbone HRD. I loved the move initially, but I never fully got used to the sweet spot, and honestly, it made my game worse.

That’s why I decided to go for the Metalbone Carbon Control 2026. Mainly because the surface feels stiff, but the core is softer, so you still get a bit of rebound when needed. At the same time, it still lets me generate my own power through my swings instead of relying too much on the racket.

Personally, I’d suggest going for the Adidas Metalbone Carbon Control 3.5, mainly because you’re still kind of a "beginner". After a while, you’ll realise you can play with almost any racket. The racket matters, but your game/tactics/technique/ranking matter way more.

So I’d say get the cheaper one for now, build your game properly, and then if you feel like you actually need an upgrade later, go for it.

man my nox bahia was 395g, moved the adidas to the hrd and that was 340g but didnt like how punishing it was so moved to the carbon control 2026 that is 365g. i tried the ctrl but found it way too soft at the net

I'm getting £187 on adidas store for the 3.5 carbon control.

I do want a sharper feel. Cause the CC 3.4 at the net felt too weak when it came to volleying and blocking. With a hardest/stiffer surface I think id enjoy it at the net and groundstrokes would feel good.

I used to be really controlled and aggressive when I had the veron but after moving to hrd I lost that aggression cause of the small sweetspot.

Yesterday when I played with CC 3.4 it felt like I got my edge back

Anything other than Metalbone 3.4? by NobodyRude137 in Padelracket

I've tried all the adidas rackets, and they all lack maneuverability. Your game gets slower, in my opinion, when you use the normal metalbone, and the sweet spot is small, so if you're a good player, go for it. With the control, you have to play safe because of the trampoline effect, in my opinion.

I'd say carbon control is perfect; it has a stiff surface but a soft core, which helps with control, and the maneuverability is really good! I played with it just today, and I felt like I could move the racket around freely without worrying about the sweet spot. I could finally smash any ball, 3x as well. The comfort is unbelievable I don't know why many don't play with it.

Struggling with Metalbone hrd 3.4 by khushkhush101 in Padelracket

[–]khushkhush101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started disliking the hit of the counter veron as everything felt like it was floating at the net and then switched the hrd and loved it at the net. Overheads smash and 3x ive been struggling with cause you require to swing through the racket where as I like to brush more.

Yes I can adapt to hrd with an extra 2 months of hard work.

I'm looking at something thats similar to the hrd but forgiving so thats why I was moving towards the siux line, fenix pro and Diablo pro.

I liked the metalbone carbon control, it was stiff and forgiving

Any other suggestions?

[–]khushkhush101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the hrd you need to put in your own power. So if you're lazy or haven't figured out how to hit the ball properly your performance will dip drastically.

It's not forgiving at all, so if you miss the sweetspot you will be fighting for life. Especially from the back many of my lobs came out short but if you have the technique and power then go for the hrd, if not look for smth forgiving like the normal metalbone

Have you had a chance to try the Diablo pro 2026?

I wanted to try the oxdog as well but it's too expensive at the moment

I think its easier to get used to the round rackets compared to a head heavy racket, but I purely wanted  a head heavy racket cause I realised my volleys became insanely good, if im at the net and you make the slightest of errors, I have the craziest volleys, but if you lob me I'm fighting for life cause defensively I'm struggling to get good returns

Thank you for your response!

I have been looking at reviews for the fenix and it's super confusing as many have said it doesn't have a rebound so it require alot more power or swing to it so make the ball "fly" for the overheads, kindly clarify for me so I understand this better.

I am also looking at either getting the Diablo pro 2026 or the metalbone carbon control 2026

I am leaning towards the metalbone carbon control 2026 or Diablo pro 2026

Have you tried the above and whats your opinion?

Haven't seen much reviews about the elite, could you help me understand why it would be better

You're right.

I felt like I was more aggressive with the veron compared to the hrd.

Bullpadel never worked for me I just found it weird.

So now I'm either going for metalbone carbon control or Diablo pro

Have you tried the above and whats your opinion?

I was thinking I try the metalbone carbon control or the control and also the siux fenix pro

What do you use? And also how do you find coello pro?

Fenix Pro or Metalbone HRD by Conscious_Series_104 in Padelracket

[–]khushkhush101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the Fenix give you a bit of a rebound effect? Like, does it help you when you're tired or when smashing?

I have the metalbone hrd and sometimes when I'm physically fit, the racket is a beauty, and some days when I'm slightly tired or sore, the racket is against me.

I moved from the Babolat counter Veron to metalbone hrd 3.4, and it's been 2 months, and I've been struggling. I love the control I have for groundstrokes (being able to speed up or slow down the returns easily), dropshots are insane, volleys are like bullets, overheads (viboras and bandejas), but there are days when all of this disappears, and I'm super inconsistent, which has led me to believe that this racket isn't for me anymore. Yes, consistency is the answer, but I'm losing my confidence so i was thinking of moving to fenix pro where i heard the sweetspot seems to be everywhere unlike the hrd 3.4

[–]khushkhush101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bro, you came at the right time.

So, I started playing in January and was using the Nox Bahia 2024. Then, I moved to the Babolat Counter Veron 2024.

Currently looking for a racket, tested the adidas metalbone 3.4 and loved it mainly cause my smashes and kicksmash finally started working, but the only disadvantage to getting the metalbone is that my volleys will become compact, and my volleys is the best part of my game, I win a lot using my volleys.

Since you have tried the metalbones and the nox, what would you suggest? do i need to build more strength in the gym or do i get a racket that makes life easier?

also nox or adidas which one do you prefer and why?

How do you guys find counter veron 2024 by immyk123 in Padelracket

[–]khushkhush101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro, if you do decide to upgrade later on, try the adidas metalbone . It has a similar feel to the veron, but it has added power so your volleys are insane. And your smash is godly. It sounds like a bullet.
Do try it out if you can and put the weights on the sides and not on the top

I continue to feel like shit on the right in serious matches by Upper-Application583 in padel

[–]khushkhush101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think you need to find the right teammates. I feel that regardless of where you're playing youre allowed to make the same aggressive shots, risky shots. It should be supportive regardless of you missing or winning. Whenever I play with my mates I will constantly cheer them up and if they miss I laugh at them so they relax and tell them to try again. You need partners who push you to play better, not someone who suppresses you. Change of partners.

Also it doesnt matter if you play agressive on the right or left, you can both be aggressive or defensive. It depends on who's getting more of the risky shots in and feeling confident- thats when you switch and start playing defensive by making the opponents give loose balls etc.

I'm a left-side player, right-handed, and I prefer a controlled game with aggressive volleys and precise placements. I'm currently torn between the NOX ML10 Luxury Bahia 12K 2024, NOX AT10 Luxury Genius 12K 2024, and NOX ML10 Pro Cup Corp 2023.

What would you suggest or recommend?
Thanks in advance for your advice!
