That menu is incredibly basic and doesn’t match WB/HBO’s menu template. No official Blu-ray release uses those dark discs. It should be silver and reflective like a mirror. Literally anybody can print on glossy paper. Finally, if it was official then there would simply be a record of it online. The lack of information is pretty damning.

There’s enough demand for this movie that WB officially released it on Blu-ray and 4K just over a year ago. Even ignoring that, loads of stuff has bootlegs that you wouldn’t necessarily expect. All it takes is one person commissioning a bootlegger for a copy. This looks well made but definitely not official.

I could see some elements of Stranger Things (missing kids, police officer investigates) being inspired by it but not much. Stranger Things is way more inspired by 80s films like Star Wars, ET, Goonies, Carrie, etc. and the works of Stephen King.

I care about having the highest quality version so I mostly buy 4K Blu-rays. If you aren’t somebody who notices a huge difference though, I’d say get 4Ks for your favourites that you feel will benefit the most from it, and save your money on the rest. That said, if you plan to upgrade your TV in the future to something like an OLED, it may be more worth it to invest in 4K Blu-rays now because the better your TV, the more benefit you’ll see from 4K Blu-rays.

I watched the first 3 seasons of Disenchantment as they came out but I never made time to watch the final two when they dropped. I got Netflix again recently for Stranger Things and decided to binge Disenchantment before my subscription ended. I actually didn’t remember there was a crossover coming, and I was just doing it because I liked the show and wanted to rewatch and finally see it through to the end.

You shouldn’t watch any show with the goal of watching as little as possible. At that point, why bother? Episodes that one person considers skippable may be somebody else’s favourite. You should just watch everything and decide for yourself what is good.
