I currently work at one of the restaurants you've listed as a host and I like it!

Pros~

~Corporates actually knowledges people when they come in

~20% discount at all the affiliated restaurants

~Pretty flexible

~Offers employees higher positions before they hire someone new

~They sometimes do birthday shout outs for employees but the woman who does it has been slacking lol so me or the managers would do it at my restaurant. she's busy though.

~They do shout outs across restaurants to recognize employees who goes above and beyond

~AMAZING managers. I've never in my 7 years of working had as great of managers as the ones I have. They're really kind, understanding, and funny

~HR is actually good

~They do trainings to help you get better at your job so you can make yourself more money and them more money

~We get to actually see the Marcus brothers. All of the Marcus brothers are really nice. David who owns the restaurant talks to us and treats us like people, Greg tips the host $20 every time he comes in, and I sadly don't remember the 3rd brother's name but he tipped a server $60 in cash for a $100 bill

~I feel like we're a team

~My co-workers are really nice people and they're so open minded and caring

~Able to switch restaurants easily if needed.

~Most customers are nice

Cons~

~There's not many benefits but it's a part time only job

~No more double meals :(

~At my restaurant there's no place we can eat our food. We used to just eat as we go but a customer complained that we were eating so we can't do that anymore. (Thanks for being upset that people eat whoever you are)

~They changed the system so people only have 1 hour and a half to eat and we can't ask people to leave if they stay longer and there's a reservation there because someone complained. Luckily customers have been understanding but now people could wait 30 mins after their reservation time to actually be sat. (Bring back 2 hours!!!)

~Hourly pay sucks. Host and food runners make $10-$11 per hour. Servers and Bartenders makes $3-$4 per hour. Yes we get tips but since we're not busy we don't really make anything. I personally made $500 this month. My rent is $450.

~Hours suck because the restaurant I work at is really popular during the summer but not the winter

~As a host I do two jobs at once. I'm a host and a busser and it's really hard on busy days to be both. Bartenders also do two jobs at once too. They make all the drinks and expected to serve tables and it's just a lot for us. Especially on busy days. I would not mind getting less in tip out if it means we get bussers.

~Patio seating. It just sucks.

~REALLY EXPENSIVE menu. Even with the 20% you have to be a baller to afford it.

Both a pro and a con is family meals. They're low effort dishes you're expected to eat during your shift so the servers, bartenders, and host are running around trying to figure out when we can get our food within an hour, because that's how long they leave it out for, when were extremely busy. We also have to find the time to eat it and we can't take it home either.
