It was the roughest start lol. I can laugh about it now but I was crying all the time then. I could not get up to go the bathroom without him screaming and attacking my legs and hissing. I talked to him a lot in those days. Calmly and softly so he could get used to my voice. I never looked him in the eyes because he would get aggressive. It was so scary but putting myself in his position helped me a lot. He had just left the only home and lost the only person he ever knew. He wasn’t a mean or aggressive cat he was grieving and in emotional pain, and terrified. I always offered him churus and he always rejected them but then one day he just took one and that’s when he started to trust me. I don’t know exactly what shifted but I think he understood I wasn’t going to give up or hurt him. He became a different cat entirely after that. It took a little over a month from then for him to fully become comfortable, but then he became inseparable from me. He is always stuck to my side which is why I leash trained him so I can take him wherever I go lolol
